I can die happy if this movie succeeds. This will be the biggest MUST SEE FILM in my list.
The last one was Rocky Balboa and I got to watch it 4 times on the big screen. Talk about releasing fandom tension!
When MK comes out, I will be there with spear and all!
Im happy to see Lambert and Robin Shou have been relisted as possible cast members of the film! _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Hopefully, this movie isn't going to be a screw up like what Paul Anderson and that other guy did with the first two MK movies. Yes, the fight scenes were good, but overall those first two just stank. I'm glad, however, that Robin Shou and Christopher Lambert are returning. Lambert made a better Raiden than that other guy. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality: 11 (Ultimate Fatality)

No offense, Total, but the movies totally didn't follow the storyline of the games at all. Very few of what happened in the games, took place in the movies. The fight scenes were good, but storyline wise, it was below my standards. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality: 11 (Ultimate Fatality)

Yeah i have to agree on Scorpion53 on the part that the movies didn't have no real tides into the games itself. Cause everyone knows cyrax wasn't in mk2 and yet they had him in the 2nd movie annihilation and well same situation with smoke yes he was a hidden guy in mk2 but at that time he wasn't even a cyborg yet either. So yeah this third movie will be a excellent one if they realise fans want a movie that tides in with the games itself. _________________

the movies weren't designed to follow the games' storyline. the movies and the games are pretty much two horses of a different color.
to me, the first two movies (especially the second) weren't cast and directed for big Hollywood action sequences and A-list quality acting, so the end result is an enjoyable movie, but definitely not as great as it could be.
I would really like to see a big spender put some cash into the Mortal Kombat movie franchise, so we can see what kind of potential we're really looking at. _________________ Nikki: your friendly neighborhood moderator. ^_^

Actully I beleive that the first film followed the story of MK1 well...
MK1 (Game) is actually based off the movie "Enter The Dragon" which if you compare those 2 films they are the same sort of setting... death tournament staring fighters with supernatural abilities. MK1 to me was just that, minus the gore.

...actually Annihilation was not based on MKII. Instead in the movies they merely merged MKI and III (with a slightly altered story) completely ignoring the second. Which would make sense as the first movie had Tsung die, thus he remained unable to go beg Khan's forgiveness, eh?
Anywhy, I don't care what anyone says, the movies were great in their own style. X-Men was a decent movie, though fucking awesome to die-hard fans. Story's everyone's complaint, though the beginnings of sagas are changed and expressed differently very commonly with many genres of games/comics/movies/anime.
I think this second alteration will be excellent, as I had stated before, "I'm ecsatic beyond measure." When I heard the news I forgot how to turn my eyes. I have no doubt all it needs is a good script and a decent budget. We can only hope. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."
