I think, on this occasion, I'd have to go with Zeus. Probably 'cos I've lost all respect for Raiden post-Deception.

Well, just for the record, vs. topics aren't allowed. One Scorpion vs. Sub-Zero one remains, though only due to the fact newbs repeatedly recreate it, so we have one massive one. Anyways...
Zeus, in any situation. His power generally is far greater and he controls the effects around the world, not just in his palm. He is the reflection of anger, and with fury, would evicserate one of my favorite MK warriors.

Zeus would win as he is the Greek god of EVERYTHING, whereas Raiden is the MK god of only thunder.

I have to go with Zeus too. Raiden like mentioned is just god of thunder while Zeus is so much more.

 Raiden's fighting was terrible. And he called himself "Defender of Earthrealm"? Wait, what am I saying? Raiden's gonna die in the Apocalypse, I won't have to worry about him anymore.

Whoa whoa whoa, come on 'Rayden' fans, there were good times where he was one of the most bad-ass fighters the game had to offer. Remember at first there was the guy with the spear, the guy with the ice, and the guy with the lightning. He was a pimp once.
And forget about his lines in Geddon's Konquest, you all know very well it was very rushed. I prefer the way he was portrayed (dialogue-wise) in Deception. His Konquest speech, and his ending. He was actually pretty cool, and it was nice to see him how he was 'meant to be', I just hope he gets more purpose and isn't stuck under Khan. He should try to dominate Outworld and merge it with Earthrealm or something, that would be bad-ass if he became an Elder God again and an all-powerful boss.
Still...Zeus would yawn and Rayden would fall down.

I think the storyline with Raiden getting killed
was a bad idea,it's a little bit of a disapointment
if you ask me,anyway Zeus kinda has a big rep
due to the fact that he overthru his father Cronos
and the rest of the titans.

No offense, but I really get bugged when someone brings up the question of "Who would win? This MK character or someone from an urelated fiction?" This one is ok, but I've heard some pretty stupid ones. Like this one idiot who knows I like MK asked me who would win if Shang Tsung took on the Power Rangers....what really sucks is that guy has no long-term memory worth having, and asks me that a lot.

Dunno. They're both powerful and both have drawbacks...maybe a draw, kinda like if Noob fought his old self like in his Armageddon ending, or Liu Kang's Deception ending.

I wouldn't compare the fight to Noob and Kang's former selves considering the differences in Zeus and Rayden. With self-changed fights I always go with the elder, for it's experience which proves the victor. Though if I based the outcome of this fight that way then Rayden would win considering his experiences. Zeus should reign without questioning. Even Rayden bowed before the Elder Gods. When Zeus had to bow he picked his head up and killed his father, thus never bowing again.
