It`s has to be a concidence but i got the same corrupted file as bloodyshadow got on his xp computer which is the hall.dll file. So im posting from my local library. My dad or my uncle should have it fixed and running again this week or next or whenever. So i just wanted to update you on this so you don`t think im gone haha.

I don't know when you'll be able to check this but do you have Trend Micro Anti-virus or Spy Sweeper? I don't know what's with the flu goin' around but you've got to take your vaccines...

Yeah well the sad part is my dad fixed it tonight. but only our 120 new gb hard drive works now as our old 10 or 20 gb one which was the d went on the caput with this problem. But all i got to do is put the crap load of games and stuff i have on my c drive onto disks then it'll be plenty of room anyways.

Windows system files use the DOS 8 character file extensions... that means that the file system32.dll is as long as the filename can be...
system32.hall.dll is definatly dodgy and is most likely a virus. google the name and you should find a tool to help you get rid of it.

Yeah well when my dad reformated the cpu of course now it's all good although i lost all the stuff i had on the c drive but it wasn't that important anyways just loads of crap i had and stuff which i can always get back now. So now the cpu is back to good anyways.

You didn't need to format, I think the first time the filname was mentioned in the other thread was a typo system32.hall.dll if it is that, It's sus... however, If It's system32/hall.dll All you need to do was chuck in the XP and follow a few simple steps.

yeah that's what it was like u said it it was system32/hall.dll my dad should of just put the xp cd in there and just did it so it would just replace the file but he did the reformat way so not that im pissed or anything. As reformating is always good to do cause the cpu wasn't reformated in a long time so now it runs fast and smooth again which i always like.
