Ok, I found these online and thought they were pretty friggin cool to look at.
Check em out. the first one comes from the side of an arcade machine, the other from a magazine.
The last one however, is something very special to me. A long time ago, I was a Nintendo Power subscriber who stopped subscribing after the SNES era since I havent owned an N64 till years later when it was already sinking. Anyways, there was a special MK2 coverage once where they showed these super fuckin cooool images of these MK characters in live action and at the time, everyone thought they were images taken from the movie that i dont believe was released yet at the time.
I had that damned issue and cant find it in my old Nintendo Power stash I have left under my desk.
The images were large and clear. Scorpion looked incredible and scary. His costume was made up of yellowed bone pieces and his mask was like bone hands locked up on his face or someting. Pretty badass.
And Sub Zero looked possessed with his frosted white eyes and frosted costume with mask that looked like he has been sitting in a freezer for days. The only one you can see clearly here is Reptile. Also looks pretty awesome. Almost if not, better than the actual movie releases.
My question is..where the hell did these come from?
I know theyre not Conquest shots because Ive seen those and they pretty much looked like the ones in the movie.
Could these have been simple but elaborate photo shoots? If so, bravo to them.
If anyone here owns that Nintendo Power, please tell me what issue it was so I can find it and buy it back. Those shots were priceless and I wouldnt mind making wallpapers out of them.

Anyways...now that you mention it, that scorpion image really does look totally awesome. It would be nice to see those up large, 'cause I'm really curious if I can pin-point what the hell they're from. I haven't seen much of Conquest so from that I wouldn't be surprised though nothing else seems possible. Elaborate photo shoots? I don't know, they seem so spur-of-the-moment. Cool find, couldn't tell you any info. though, sadly.

I FOUND IT!!! I found that shit! Hell yeah lol.
Damn, i was going through the archives online for an hour or so and found it, went on ebay and bought it.
As soon as it gets here, I'll scan the large pics and post em here first thing.
Damn. I cant believe I found it.

Ok, I just received my magazine and sadly, its not how I remember it in terms of there being way more shots of what I was talking about.
However, I still think these large although few, shots, are just as interesting to look at.

OH!!! And I found out where these are from! They were originally released in a televised commercial for MK2's home console game release.

I mainly like the MK4 commercial because of how they have reptile crawling really fast at the camera and coz the shinnok bit was pretty cool.

I never ever seen that commercial in my life! That was pretty badass... I friggin wonder why the characters in the MK movie didnt look this sharp (mainly regarding MK2 commercial)
Heres a snap shot I managed to take of scorpion for MK4. Its so quick to catch but here it is. I still dig the Scorpion of MK2's commercial.

WOW!!!
I have seen the first two before!!!
Those pictures are print ads for Mortal Kombat 2!
They are not from Mortal Kombat Conquest, they are screen shots of the motion capture actors who played the characters in Mortal Kombat 2 if that is what you were wanting to know??
The first one is Anthony Marquez as Kung Lao, Katlin Zamiar as Kitana, Richard Divizo as Baraka, and Philip Ahn M.D. as Shang Tsung.
The second one is Carlos Pesina as Raiden, Daniel Pesina (Carlos's older brother) as Johnny Cage, Ho Sung Pak as Liu Kang and I think they had Richard Divizio dressed up as Scorpion since Daniel Pesina was already in the picture and because Daniel plays all of the ninjas in MK2, John Parrish as Jax! All three pics are great I found a site that has even more pictures of the game actors in action !!! Wanna see?????
