who do you think willl be in mortal kombat 8???  i personally think raiden will be in it maybe scorpion and one of the evil guys like shao kahn or shang tsung to rule outworld, there must be more old guys in there....who do you think???

Well dude, no one, other than the MK Team themselves, who will be in MK 8. We can only make predictions, but there is no doubt in my mind that Scorpion and Sub-Zero will stay, as Scorpion is Ed Boon's favorite and Sub-Zero is an icon of Mortal Kombat. Other than that, we won't know who will be in it until the MK Team decides to release the info.

I feel like the saurians will begin their ascension in MKVIII. With Reptile, Khameleon, Chameleon, and that (possibly new) character mentioned by Vogel...they're on the rise. Thus, probably a new saurian or two and most likely Reptile and Khameleon. Chameleon, not as likely.

New character? what? is ther a vid or post of this I can watch/read?? if so please lead me in the right direction!! I also think subby and scorp will be in the next one, but to tell you the truth, I really want a new character to be my fav in the next MK, time for something all new

In Reptile's Geddon ending he opens the sarcophagus of some 'monarch'. Vogel was asked if this was Khameleon and he said the character was most likely someone new. We know it can't be Khameleon now, so it has to be a new character, supposedly.

i think that mk 8 should go back to basics  so most of the characters from mk1 should be in there (exept kano cuz i've never bin 2 keen on him!) other than that i hope reptile makes an apperence and that ed boon pulls it out the bag and makes the best mk yet! (and if the gears of war rumour is anything to go by it will be !!!)

Dude, that is not a good idea at all. Going back to the basics would be a mistake and would kill the franchise in general. MK needs to be reborn, with a new style and a new set of characters. Throw out a lot of the current ones, with the exception of about 10-15% of the original cast, which is the case here. A new fighting system and different fighting arenas. Bring out some new power hungry characters and allow the new tournament begin. Yes, our basics did create a hell of a franchise for us, but if we went back, we probably would not have anymore Mortal Kombat, just a dead franchise.

ok i get the statment and i agree to a point but i feel that ed boon should not kill everyting that has made mortal kombat great. yes i think that its neccessary to create a new and better gaming system for mortal kombat 8 and yes i also feel that mk8 needs a majorty of new characters that can revolutionise the mk universe but i also feel that mk8 cant truly be the best ever unless boon keeps the finer points of the past mk's.
but other than that i think the 10-15% of charcters should be the core characters like raiden,liu kang,shao khan etc cuz without those boon has nothig to build on characterwise (ok maybe im ranting just a little! )

I think they can compromise; keep similar rulers (Kahn or Onaga to Outworld, Fujin or Rayden to Earthrealm, et cetera) with a new roster of very unique and adaptive characters. It's about the story for me, I just don't want them to fuck it up by making a mortal in charge of anything.
The next game will likely take to a time quite a ways past Geddon, thus some characters might be children or proteges of previous characters. I wouldn't mind seeing an old Kang as a teacher with a Shaolin student or two, and rumors of Scorpion's son have been going on long enough.
Oh, by the way, no ranting aloud!

Thats some good thinking, I want more then just scorp and subby left over, BUT I am excited for a new MK, 80% new characters, levels, and what not.
Also, I am very interested in the story, I've always liked the MK story very much. I am sure the MK team will do a fine job.

They should do a good job with this one. I am looking forward to seeing who survived the Apocalypse, and who did not. I already know that Scorpion and Sub-Zero will.

very cool idea! (although not sure about the scorpions son idea as BOTH quan chi and sub-zero would have to be dead for that to happen)
if the realm rulers idea comes to light who do u think would be those rulers? heres mine
earthrealm-raiden,outworld-shoa khan,edenia-sindel or kitana,netherrealm-noob,order and choas realm i dont mind about

Like it has been said only guys we know that will be in next gen is of course sub zero and scorpion. Hopefully they also keep ermac,kitana,mileena cyrax and sektor. But that's a long shot.
