The review is brutal. I hate to be a spoiler, but compared to the U.S. score of 7.8, the AU review gave a merciless score of 6.3. A sad day for Mortal Kombat.

It kinda sucks how they dis the characters and what not, but I for one am happy finally the truth is being told on the terrible crap that is the Wii mote.
(yes I do hate is with a passion)
It is hard to read them talk about the "the combat mechanics are positively medieval compared to the leading lights of the fighting genre, and sure, the 64 characters are woefully uninspired in design, but there's still something to be said for this game's unbalanced, mash-happy, fast-paced combat." thats like a kick to the teeth, I love MK. But sweet Jesus I am happy they dis that stupid Wii mote, and YES, I do know someone who owns a Wii and I HATE it.
Wii suckers, thats what they get for getting an extra character 
Anyways, I am done my Wii rant.
Poor MK getting crap reviews, come on now, what other fighting game would we play? name another good one that is out (that is new) I dare you to come up with one.
Remember, this is also just my opinion and I am sure many people disagree.

The message to this is the mortal kombat team needs to step it up in there next game. Cause some of the features they added in armageddon turned off some fans. Mainly the disappearance of the old way of doing fatalitys and replacing it with mini do it yourself fatality type of way and other stuff. I mean i don't disagree with that review even if i don't have a wii they point out the important flaws and stuff with the wii version.

Honestly, I don´t care what some reviewer thinks. I mean, reviews are ok, when you´re deciding whether to buy a game or not. But I´ve alredy played the game myself and it´s clear 8/10 for me, which is very good 
You know, he finished writing the review and went on to play Tekken again

In my opinion, the review seem to come from someone who clearly does not like MK and wouldnt give it a decent review no matter what.

Guys let me tell you a sad truth about fighting games here.
Mortal Kombat isn't as big in Australia compared to counter parts Tekken and Street Fighter. Alot of Australian gamers are dumb...and they play alot of the "over hyped" style games, this is definatly true when it comes to fighters. Only real gamers can see how great Mortal Kombat games are compared to Tekken and others. MK is constantly evoloving and changing sometimes It's good, sometimes It's bad. But games like Tekken never evolve and a 3 year old retarded monkey can play those games. (See Eddy, Teekn 3 random button pushing = win or use any character and just press any 2 buttons together to pull off some super cool throw attack bullshit).
Mortal Kombat 1-4 were massive here, Arcades in Australia were awesome and had big followings, It's extremly sad that I walk past places where I had my first MK experiances (just yesterday I walked past the place that I first played Mortal Kombat 3 in, and the place I got that MK2 foam sign you guys can see below - That arcade is long since gone and has been turned into resturants and lame ass Australian suvioner shops.)
When MK hit the home market, it has always sold here, however alot of these new home console games require you to look up how to peform moves and combos....when this happen lots of Aussie gamers didn't do that, back in Arcade days everything was in front of you but the new games required a bit of research and most of these gamers just "wing it" and do random button pushing...they still enjoy the game, but most have NO IDEA what they are doing. That is why Shaolin Monks did EXTREMLY well here, basicly you can beat the game no matter how much MK experiance you have had...once you learn a few basic combos the game is mega addictive.
So basicly thats the sad truth about MK here in Aus. It sucks...I have to live around these moronic Australian gamers that think Tekken is god's gift to fighting games....god I hate Tekken, It's a peice of rubbish! 
And as I type this I can tell you now, without even looking at that review yet...that is the reason they scored the game low, they just dont get MK here.

same thing here in germany...
The only thing mk "lives" in germany is, because they banned the mk games because of the "violiacion".
Therefor all friends, oh you got mk, you got mk 2, oh can we play it...
And then everybody wants to play it because of the ban, like doom etc..., my first mk i saw by my friend on the sega mega drive (genessis), and i bought myself a copy from this game ...
In the Arcardeplayrooms in munic, the beat the hell out of each fighter...
But for the most Arcardeguys, mk died with the ban.

I still don't understand that MK1-4 blood ban in Germany, Germany is usally pretty open with stuff and this really surprises me, and when I told my German and Austrian friends they were as shocked as me!
I think it was really sad when they removed the History Of Mortal Kombat from the MK:DA disc, that was really bad.

Same things in tv, dvds or something like that, you must travel to austria to get uncut films, games.
No joke...
in germany a site exists, only too inform you what was cut in this movie, or game...
NO JOKE.
And the HISTORY thing, that was really hard. But with the Internet thank god. i saw it.
Did the AU Version of MK DA have the history vid?
Take Terminator the movie....
the film starts at 11 pm. then when he get the knife in his body ... cut, he grab his heart cut.. and so on and so on...
This ban-thing in germany s'cks - thats for sure...

In the PAL regions only Germany usally has special cuts. All the Aussie versions of MK games have never been censored here. (Apart from MK1 on SNES but that was a global Nintendo thing)
So you are saying that Germany censors games but Austria doesn't?

the austria people got the games without cencors, in the uk, when you buy with ebay, you got multilingual games, means english cover and german letters.
the best thing is mk sm, when you have the german version, all fatalitys turn black. you never see any fatality.
mk 4 ps 1 = cut, you dont see sub zeros spine rib.

Man, I gotta say, you guys both have it bad. A blood ban in Germany and idiots who think Tekken is the shit? What the hell is going on with the world today? ssub-zzero: you're probably better off buying Mortal Kombat from America, unless they screen all mail and scan the games for "illegal blood". And what is up with them taking out the history of Mortal Kombat from MK:DA? That's like a kick in the teeth. Mortal Kombat's history should never be left out, regardless of what may or may not have happened. Furthermore, a ban on blood is so fucking stupid. Total: I hate to see you have to deal with a bunch of Tekken losers in Australia. It's a shame that Australia's full of Tekken losers instead of MK freaks, like the rest of us. I'd think that Mortal Kombat would be popular all over the world, instead of Tekken.
