Could you explain why Nightwolf would be the champion? I've always thought he was just a supporting character since his story was not a big one, and after the third tounament Nightwolf doesnt return.

I never thought of nightwoolf or stryker as of some successful or important characters. Stryker is a stupid idea and nightwoolf - underdeveloped. These two together with kabal irritated me most of all, good thing they are gone. Sorry to all lovers of these, no offence. MK is a MK, it has its story, its traditions ... I'm not saying that all should be ninjas and monks, no, but yes - serious fighters. MKDA cast is more or less fine. As for the championship ... Rayden won't be - he's above it, Sub-Zero has been strongly humanized, so he could be ... Scorpion ... he has his own ambitions. Kung Lao could be considering his past story line. All other characters can hardly be considered as possible champions, don't get me wrong, they're great, but their purpose is different.

IMO, I think that Kung Lao would be responsible enough to handle the job as the MK hero. He is like Liu Kang, except he is alot more wiser. He seems to be way more mature than Liu Kang.

Kung Lao is the one with the blade hat right?...and If he is i've never known him to be as popular as you guys make him seem, to me hes like Stryker or Nightwolf....

I'm not sure why Kung Lao is popular,but i think it might be because of his hat split fatality in mk2.
Now,my question.Why is Sonya popular?Is it because she's manly?

Kung Lao is cool as hell
(i like his mkda uniform better than any other character)
and i dont think sonya is popular im pretty sure most people want her gone

- Sonya may be popular because she was the only female in original MK and people kind of got to like her and they have pulled those feelings up to date. She has suffered with the introduction of Jax whom I really detest.
- Kung Lao is popular because of his background. He had an ancestor to deafeat Goro and generally is considered as Lui Kangs direct substitution. If you ask me whether I like him or not, I'd say I more like him than not. He is also somewhat enigmatic and therefore attractive.
- You could always play Tekken if you hate the monks and ninjas so much. But here, it is the setting of the game and you cannot remove it without hurting it. There are enought non-monk warriors in MKDA already anyway.
Anyway, the game seems to be coming out the way so it will please the majority of tastes apart from the very weird and unadequate ones. No worries should arise at this moment.

He's been in MK3/UMK3/MKT and MK Gold.His story is fine(not as repetitive as Sonya's).He just is boring to use(except for MK2)and his only good fatality was the hat split.And he really has a personality problem.IMO he would be just as boring as kang as the new champion.
Tekken sucks.
I don't hate the idea of a monk in the game.Monks in fighting games are fun to beat up.Without a military soldier(Jax),a tomboy(Sonya),and a monk(Kung Lao),i'll have nobody to kill.

I like Nightwolf as much as the next guy, but him being the main good guy woud not be a good move....
Besides if you are going by storyline in the MK games up to now, then Kai would be the main good guy, and I know a lot of people would not wanna c that, even though I dont care.
Thing is I do not think there will be a main good guy. There r three main storylines it seems in this one:
The Deadly Alliance
The Dragon King
Mortal Kombat, meaning the tournament...doubt that even happens in this one though..
So I think there will be good guys for different parts.......
Kung Lao winning the tournament maybe
Scorpion destroying Quan Chi
Raiden and Shang deuling
Kenshi, Drahmin, and Moloch feuding, maybe a big role in the Dragon King thing...
Kano, Mavado, Jax, and Sonya going at it in different ways..
So many storylines in this one, so many posibilities.....Sorry for the long post.
