I'm sure they'll give us an explanation of what happened after Kano killed her during MK3, and her motives for being here now. Just like how they'll likely explain Motaro's missing rear legs. Of course, if they don't, it wouldn't be the first time important details were omitted from character bios for this game.

Motaro they need to explain. Sheeva; who cares? She's darker. Every ninja looks way different than they used to. Sheeva can tan if she wants. She lives next to lava for Shinnok's sake.

From playing Armageddon, I thought it was made obvious why Motaro was bipedal in the story.
His ending indicated that the Shokans put a curse on his people and made them into Minotaurs

Actually, accoding to the MK1 instruction manual, the original Sub-Zero was American (at least his mother was, his father was Chinese I think, but they lived in the US). We can also tell by looking at both Sub-Zeros they're not Chinese in origin.
As for Motaro, I already knew about the curse, but they could elaborate on it more in his biography.

They didn't have much of an option though really. i would rather a half arsed stroyline for a non-important but loved charecter than not to have seen him at all
