Alright, I know we're all rock junkies, but I'd like to take a sec to make a detour.
There's this song by Lady Gaga called Telephone. I've fell in love with this song not because of the music, but the lyrics. It tells a story I've never heard in any song, "Stop fucking calling me, I'm busy partying." lol
The music is awesome and very easy to dance to, but the lyrics is what made me like it. So, what I'd like to know is, are there any songs you guys like because of the lyrics?

Hell yeah, man. Lyrics are a huge driving force for me to appreciate a song. Hip Hop/ Rap music is great for this. One that always springs to mind is Dance With The devil by Immortal Technique. Ths song bassically tells the story of a young man who wants to be a big-time ganster, and the shit he goes through to try and make this happen. It's a horribly explicit tale, and it sure ain't easy listening, but it's quite though provoking.
I love track that tell a story, though usually these stories don't seem to end well. Should Have Listened by Nickleback explains the thoughts of a man living in a drunken haze since his woman left him, and trying to pick up the pieces of his life.
Spare Me The Details by The Offspring tells about the singers girlfriend going to a party, getting drunk, and have some sex with another guy. It's bassically about his friends telling him what happened, but he doesn't want to know. It's a strange track, because the guitar riff, vocal melody and drum-beat are really happy, and have a summer feel to them, but the lyrics are quite the oppisite.
Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd is a classic piece of lyrical genius. It tells the tale of a man who has overdosed on drugs. The verses are the doctor trying to comunicate with him, and the pre-chorus' are his replies. Excellently written stuff.

There's this song I like by Reba McEntire called Fancy. It's about a young girl whose mother turns into a prostitute in order to get out of poverty. That story ended well. Fancy got rich! Ha!

Just checked that vid. Great story, and phenomenal vocal melody.
It's unfortunate thatn a lot of the best lyrics are sad ones, but that way it really gets into your heart.
