i heard that kitana is playable along with goro
for story mode on xbox. is this true  if so how do you unlock
them.

kitana is. but only with a cheat cart
but goro might be aswell with the same strategy, though only in multiplayer

actually, Kitana can be unlocked without the aid of Action Replay or some other cheat device.
as taken from the GameFAQs Shaolin Monks Secrets page (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/code/925007.html):
"Unlock Kitana
In the MK2 arena level (right before the portal with the two statues in front of it) in the evil monastery, you will see many pillars. Jump on one of them which is half broken and then double jump onto the roof. You will find the secret there."
as for Goro, I'm pretty sure there's no way to unlock him unless you've got a cheat device. not sure why y'all wanna play as Goro anyway, but hey. different strokes for different folks, I suppose. =)

Actually if Im not mistaken, I saw a youtube video I think where I saw someone playin as Goro. So there is a way. Y would anyone wanna play as him? Well, he kicks ass.

yes but every time i search the closest thing they
have is a you tube video of some one playing as
kitana or goro on konquset mode

That's for multiplayer. You can't do the story with her, though.

true statement. however, if you really wanna play through story mode with Kitana, then you can still use Action Replay to do it. although I do have to warn you, I'm pretty sure that she won't appear quite... normally. I think Amphibious posted a few pictures or a video a while back of her being used in story mode, and she was sporting quite the giraffe neck and a less than attractive uniboob.
so ya know... don't say I didn't warn ya. =P

She is only playable through multiplayer if you want to unlock her.
BUT! If you want to play Story Mode with her, you'll have to use an xBox trainer / Action Replay / other cheat devices.
You will need these cheat devices to use other characters, such as Jade, Mileena, Goro, etc.

If anybody wants a list on how to unlock the regular characters in vs mode, I've got the answers to how to unlock them w/o a cheat device. I personally can't unlock Reptile, though I've tried everything it said to do. But I know where the koins are. Just ask me and I'll tell you gladly.
