...hell I remember that man, that was hilarious. And it's true, it's too late, we already have Tanya. Scorpion's wife? That would be Vogel's nightmare. Boon: Look, Midway said we have to have a female Scorpion so...could you give Scorpion a wife? Ready go. Vogel: I quit.

Strange enough, I never took notice of Tanya's existence.  I don't think I ever considered that character as a worthy MK addition. More like a cheap fill in like I dunno... Darius?
I'd stick with the originals and make them perfect playable characters.
Sometimes I feel Mortal Kombat is continuosly straying further away from that cool ancient shaolin feel, for a more dungeons and dragons type of thing.
Even with some of the character's armor, they come off less of asian/orient origin and more european knight in in shinning armor types.
Kinda turns me off. Hence why I always narrow down my picks between Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

I really like how Mortal Kombat has been very diverse with its selected cast.
So them straying away from the Orient doesn't really bother me as much. Also if you think about, there's more to the MK universe than just Earthrealm.
And Tanya is NOT the female Scorpion. Why? Just because she's dresses in yellow? Colors mean nothing. That's like saying that Mileena and Rain are counterparts. For instance, Kitana and Sub-Zero are in blue, but they aren't the same. And then Frost comes along. I'm sure that eventually in a future game, we will get a female Scorpion eventually, whether that be good or bad.
If any character would be a female Scorpion, I would say his wife is the best choice.

I can name a couple reasons why Tanya is like the female Scorpion:
As you said, her 'main color' is the same as his
Her attitude is a lot like his
Both of them have fire based moves
Essentially, though she is evil, she acts more neurtral then anything.

...the only thing different between Scorpion and Tanya is that Tanya isn't striving for vengeance. Her purpose is selfish, giving her a less interesting story, making her less noticeable, making the need for a new female Scorpion more plausible. I hate the idea anyway. Counterparts, whether female or younger or brother or whatever, are all pointless and illogical to most stories. Just make a new and original character and get on with it.

I think the main idea about this topic is that someone wants an "Actual" female scorpion in relation to Scorpion himself and not just a character who is adorned in similar colors and characteristics.
Frost is obviously related to Sub-Zero in some way (i personally never cared because i dont really use her).
Im sure there will be a female Scorpion. If Boon popped a nerve to do something as atrocious as getting DC involved with MK, come on...theres gonna be a female scorpion some day.
