so finally capcom are finally making IV, after 7 years of seamingly doing nothing.
theres a trailer out on gamespot(there are probably other places like ign that has it)
it looks like Okami, but better and more 3D looking. also the shadowing/shading looks pretty awesome, imo. it could be just because its a very preliminary thing, but its possible that it will look like that at the end.
so what you you guys thing about it?

I think it took capcom so long to make a new one was because they had much better games to make like Resi Evil 4. I'm not too excited to be honest.

They took too long. I dont care anymore.
Dont get me wrong. I saw the screen caps, they look great, but i just have no interest. I burned myself out with Street Fighter many years ago. The never really evolved until now. 7 years later.

...with the film in production, it may do better than you all think. It could very well be a shocking comeback.

I hear ya. But, unfortunately the film will be put out by yet, another noob (literally) in the film industry. He's 27 years old and intends on making Chun Li the main character in Street Fighter because he thinks women are underdogs.
He also will disregard Ryu as the actual main importance of the Street Fighter story line just like the first film did.
Thats like making Harley Queen the main important character in Batman Begins.
Or perhaps Johnny Cage as numero uno character in Mortal Kombat and Liu and the rest will be right behind him.
Only a lack of imagination and originality will force someone to make such a decision. Its the easy way out in making a film memorably different. Doing something no one expects.
Except, in this case, I think its a wrong move. Ryu is and always will be number one in Street Fighter. The only Street Fighter titles that secure this notion, is Capcom's films with Renegade productions.
Anyone seen those?
For a Street Fighter film to work, it needs to be core again. Let's face it. Street Fighter is about fighters from all over the world, coming together to fight for grand master title. In the midst of all that, little things are happening between most, but not all, characters.
I see this more like BloodSport than anything else really. And I loved BloodSport (the fights atleast).
I feel they need to make it Like Blood Sport and mix it with the roughness of Pride Fighting. The movie should be focusing on channeling energies in ancient fashion. So we can believe amazing things can be done by these individuals. Like the Tatsumaki-senpu-kyaku, or even the Hadoken.
The film's setting is very crucial. It must be recreated on a setting where one can believe these moves exist. In the same way many believe shaolin monks can do amazing things, just never infront of cameras.
I wish Mortal Kombat was set like this in part 2.
Part one had it closer to this especially in the opening scene with the fight between Liu's brother and Shang Tsung. Very ancient looking with dark thunderous clouds. Shaolinish and unexplainable.
Not that horsecrap like the first Street Fighter film which was a complete and utter joke. After that movie, I lost a lot of interest in SF. Just like I nearly lost all interest in Batman when they screwed him over in the last two films prior to Batman Begins.
BTW, the director of SF is also making a Voltron film which fans on the official Voltron fanbase are against, after reading what he planned for it.
The only fans who supports this guy, are He-Man fans.
He seems to be very keen on not changing anything from that property.
Dont get me wrong here though, the game looks fantastic. Its just a little late for me. Had something like this come out 2 or 3 years ago, it would have been a great thing. Im too much of a Mortal Kombat bitch anyways. 
Damn and what the hell is taking Midway so long!! I want my MK8!! hahahaha 
Only then, will I purchase a PS3 or XBox360.

...the film sucking is entirely expected, like Sam Raimi directing the Hobbit, but it will bring a lot of attention to the nearly forgotten franchise. I personally think the game will rank high. If we're lucky it will give a new motive for the fighting series, and the MK team may work harder on future games with some heavy competition.

It does look very interesting in terms of graphic abilities. I want to see this up close. It hits coin ops-first correct?

...it's going to be 2-dimensional and what-not, but chances are it'll go straight to console (360; PS3; Wii) just like everything else.
