Lets make some ideas for counter fatalitys that i posted b4 
Kano ur character steals his buterfly knife and makes his laser eye reflect onto him and cut him in half. 
Hsu Hao ur charqacter rips his head off and stuffs it in the chest laster and then it explodes 
Milleena drinks nails to spit out but ur character strangles her and she explodes with nails

Personally I don't like the idea of killing yourself when it says finish him/her. That's what the empire got started on was the blood, gore, and fatally killing your opponent. Besides what fun would it be to fight your butt off just to kill yourself?

Counter fatalities? I like it! I actually had a dream about that once.
Raiden goes to perform his Exploding Uppercut. You catch his fist while it's going up and flip over Raiden. When you land on the ground (still holding Raiden's fist) you slam him on the ground so hard he explodes.

im happy with hara kiris, and is simply not fair beating the foe, going to kill him in a super difficult fatality, all of that for being killed???.
