Post subject: umk 3 on xbox 360 d-pad or analog sticks |

after playing a few games online I found it very hard to do special moves and to jump around .
so my question is what should I try learning to use more the d-pad or analog stick. what are some pros and cons

I feel that is easier to play with a joysitick than a d-pad, you can make the combos more quickly

D-Pad has always been easier for me. The joystick has the occasional flaw. If you've played UMK3 for the SNES in abundance, the D-Pad will flow with you. If you've only played new-gen games then you'll probably work better with the joystick. Both work, it's typically decided by what you're used to.
Personally, it's easier to mess up combos with the joystick. Generally, most people use the joystick, and they tend to be more amateur. (Tend to be, no counter-harassment please.  )

awwww man i hayt using the d-pad on 360 unless its JUST the left, right, up, down i cant stand the up left, up right, down left, down right.it just dont feal right on my thumbs oh well just MY controller out of all of them as issues with the d-pad dammit 
so stick more like arcade anyway

The 360 controller is just plain bad. The people I've seen that were very good with them all used the d-pad, but the d-pad is very poorly designed.
But you can get an arcade controller for it, which makes it so much better.
Now if only there was a GOOD keyboard to 360 adapter, I'd be in heaven.

I hate 360 controllers for fighting games.
I have to say the d-pad on the controller sucks.
I prefer using the analog stick.
Fatalities are harder to do with the controller.
I can do em and when I mess up online the shit heads are all like " ah you suck you don't know the fatality" when I just annihilated them! And I know the fatalities! (MK3 anyway) And those dweebs don't know em but still poke fun. Only trash talk if you can actually play!

The 360 control can be a pain, but only in the d-pad section. Using the analouge sticks for fighters seems to run really smooth.
