My 11-year-old niece and I like to do a little trash-talking when we play Armageddon. Sometimes we'll be Raiden and Shinnok, or Raiden and Shao Kahn; oh we come up with some good stuff there.
It's all playful banter.
I once played Trilogy with a fellow church member who's my age (21). When I beat him, he'd say, "That was good!" One of my favorite things to do (as Rayden) is throw a reverse lightning bolt. I do this when they're fairly close to me. When they get hit and stagger backward (or toward me), I launch into one of the "auto" combos (series of uppercuts followed by the Torpedo).

I feel  Cause there's been times when I'm on top of the hill in a room and really try and remain modest and then there's times when I'm being clowned. When I'm at the top I don't like those who try and get me mad with anger induced comments or petty insults- it's a game...chill.
When I'm getting brutally beaten hey it happens and I like the challenge- to me I'd rather play someone who makes me think different opposed to thinking how can I change my seat dicreetly on this high horse without looking like a jerk?

agree the cocky asshole people should respect the people that are good are somewhat good. i played so much i was thrid in 5 in the country but that was long time ago and i i never not once taught or talk bad to a player but i did work with 3 or 4 of them because they ask to get better and for me to show them some points. but now their are tons of people that are better and skilled then me and im happy for them but they should be kind and show respect to the defeat foe.

Nobody should give a shit if someone wants to be a
dikhead, let them.
I gotta say though, the SF scene is a lot more respectful
than the MK scene. I used to play UMK3 XBLA online
a while back. Atleast every second session I'd get into
a shit fight coz some hero didn't like the way I juggled
him with scorpion or h.smoke.
