|
| |
Hello I'm pretty new so I thought I'd introduce myself. My apologies if I'm in the wrong forum. But I have IMO a great idea for a new MK game(MK8)
Tell me what you guys think about it. Here it is:
The arcade mode has to have all the characters .Each character has two fighting sytles with one fighting style has a taunt, the other a niejin(power up), and a choice of a couple of weapons and some characters can impale again. Each character has their own unique fatality(ies), and animalities. And definitely have stage Fatalities. Two characters can share a style (for example Nitara and Sindel both can have Fu Jow Pai, Liu Kang and Johnny Cage can both have the nun chaka.) The ninjas can all have a choice of sword along with Kenshi and Shang Tsung with his straight sword. Characters may have a choice of weapons. Some have moves that regain some health (like Nitara's neck bite and Shang Tsung's soul steal). This means alot like Deadly Alliance and earlier games. Also once you beat the arcade with any/all characters, save that ending in the kontent section so you can see it again and not have to climb the ladder again if you don't want to, not like MKA. You also have practice, and vs.. Also in the arcade mode the difficulty levels should be different, the computer fighting better, not just always blocking and then throw a punch or two or or rare occasions a combo.
The konquest mode can be (instead of a square mile) an actual world where you might walk, or get a horse, car, boat, or even a plane to get to your next mission. You fight for money to buy a ticket or rent a horse. You find a fight to earn koins to rent a horse or car, or to buy a ticket. But unlike Deception your fighter is random like after you finish the MKD konquest. You have side quests and are free roaming. Not like MKA in a straight line and just do the same thing over and over. (I thought MKDA was better than MKA). You can go back to any relm to finish the rest of the side quests. And as you go through the konquest you come across other fighters and train with them. This I means alot like Deception. You find treasure chests, some with money, some with those cards they like to hand out, and obviously Krypt keys. And NOT 12 am on the first day of the month. A user of MKO "deadlydisastor"s idea of Good vs Evil allainces is a good idea.
The krypt will be bigger (more koffins) to spend your money on along with the forementioned krypt keys. Twist you have to find the master key to even get into the krypt. And as you get koins let the programmers make it to where you earn the koins you need. Not have 19465 of red koins and 605 of blue koins when you need 4000 blue koins to unlock something.
One mini game ( got this idea from someone else on MKO and reformulated it) I'm not trying to steal his idea it was just a really good one. A football game but instead of half your team dying, a mk fight breaks out. For example a linebacker goes in for the sack, the lb character you picked mk fights the qb character of opposing team; if the qb wins the fight he escapes the sack, but if your lb wins the fight you get the sack. It's alot like the chess game in Deception, but I'd prefer the chess game back, but if not I always have it on MKD.
The only thing I'd put in from Armageddon is the kreate a kharacter. Or maybe (just thought of this) you collect all the relics and that is the main krypt key.
If they have to put it on two discs, one for the arcade functions and the other for the konquest, krypt, and mini game. It works just fine on Final Fantasy 7-9. I would definitely buy this game but I'm kinda partial. One or two or more discs. Well tell me what you guys think. _________________

Damn boy thats one hell of a first post. I think you have some ideas but there are still think games have still too little room even for two discs. Besides if they split the mode then they would in practice making two games and being packaged as one game would mean to the Midway that they were losing half of a possible income. _________________ Yippie Ki Yay

...absolutely despise the football idea. And there's no possible way Boon and the team would spend the time required to go through with it, though that's off topic.
With the arcade gameplay, an immense change is clearly required, and I'm with you...partially. I would make many more specific changes, though generally you've got the right idea. Your Konquest mode is favorable, certainly, though unimaginable. Even with the memory new systems can hold, it would be an extraordinary inconvenience to produce, without mentioning the time necessary to complete...it's just, not plausible.
I'm for the Krypt being bigger, along with more kharacters hidden in there. Also Kreate-a-Kharacter should not only be carried on, but expanded to an extreme.
Sorry to hop on the subject as a pessimist, it's just a dream we've all had and given up on. Of course if it was possible, I'd back you entirely. Excellent post by the way, always for new ideas. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

I appreciate your feedback, that's why I posted it. As far as the football I just threw that in there because midway likes to put mini-games in their games, " l{ombat_l{rave" Iwouldn't particularly like a football game either, but I loved chess on MKD. The main thing I want in a game is the arcade, konquest (because I like RPGs) not like MKSM or the straight through MKA konquest just repeating itself over and over. I beat MKA konquest first time through. but it took me a year to master all of MKD's konquest's (side quests and hidden keys, etc.) I like the krypt just to unlock stuff (not pics of the midway team [after MKSM I'd like to smash a bottle over their heads making me pay $50 for a downgade in game quality]). I'd even be willing to go back to school to learn programming a video game just to make my own game. As long as I don't try to market it it's all legal, I could only sell it to midway legally.

Yeah I see your point, but on the other hand if they did that the fans would most likely buy it at a higher price, have the feeling of a major comeback from the crappy games MKSM (was ok), and MKA (mainly). Also if they did do the two discs if they had to, someone (I can't find her now) but said "I'd rather wait a year or two for a great game, than the last two I mentioned is a rush to get a game on the shelf." I paraphrased that quote.
PS sorry I can't give you proper credit for the quote I used from you. _________________

I combined my two posts into one, and tried to delete this post but can't. So if anybody can delete this particular reply, or pm me and tell me how if I'm the only one who can.

Hey, please dont multi post, its against the rules. Just edit the first post if you need to add more.
And to say MKSM was crappy, would depend soley how you viewed it. As far as it's cannoncy to MK, it was horrible. As for an adventure game, it was rather fun. I enjoyed playing it, and the controls were nicely done (if a bit simplistic)
And I'd rather just see puzzle/chess make a come back, or bring back the classic Test Your Might.
And I hate the idea of the realics making a comeback, just let that die off. I'd rather go back to how it was in MKDA, when you had to bust your ass off for those koins, and had a chance of buying empty ones. As for the 'master key', that'd be just as bad as the relics.
As for the konquest, a good MKD style should be brought back, it allowed for you to follow a cannon side story, as well as experience an RPG with MK elements, and taught you the basics of eveyr character.
Chuck the animalities, and you got a good thought there. Do you really want another Scorpion/Penguin incident again? As well as I'd like to see a bit more customization out of the characters; have a choice of styles to use. Give each character roughly 5 styles, including weapons and non-weapons, and select up to 3 of them to actually use in the fight. _________________

...about the '5' styles, I'd rather there be a simple two regular, and then a choice between like 5 weapons or such, somewhat like Soul Calibur, and then there would be more to find in the Krypt, as well far more enjoyment in the game. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."
