It's a lot easier to like movies based on comics if you ignore the storylines. With that said, anyone else excited about all the movies comin' out? There are so many freakin' good ones, and some...not so good.
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Hellboy II
The Dark Knight
Punisher: War Zone
Watchmen
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Superman: Man of Steel
The Dark Knight will be hardcore most certainly, following perhaps the best adaptation of the original comic-theme ever (excluding V for Vendetta)...Batman Begins. Punisher II is hopefully a savior. The others are questionable. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

seeing the trailers for The Dark Knight actually made me squeal in glee. Batman is probably my favorite "super" hero, so new Batman movies make me happy in the pants. <3
I'm really looking forward to seeing the angle that Heath Ledger will bring to the Joker's character. we've always seen him as the lovable villain who made us laugh with Jack Nickolson's rendition, but we kinda forget that he's, ya know... effin NUTS! so here's hoping we'll see a new side to him in this film. _________________ Nikki: your friendly neighborhood moderator. ^_^

Hell yes, I was worried when I saw Heath Ledger in the cast. That trailer switched up my mind entirely. I didn't think Nicholson was replaceable. I love that scene where he pulls out his 'little' revolver from his pants and the barrel end up being the length of his leg. Good stuff. With this new 'darker' series I'm extremely excited to see the Joker as such a twisted villain. Heath Ledger looks righteously hardcore.
Overall, I'm mostly excited DC is finally getting more rave than Marvel. DC deserves it. They're classic. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

Im not the least bit excited for comic book movies, but, i am definitely going to watch Dark Knight and Ironman. The rest doesnt interest me much.
The the first Hulk bombed, left a bad taste in my mouth. Unless its a complete redo (that includes no more stupid cartoony looking CGI Hulk with comic panels) with more realism, mayhem, scary green rampging man with solid story, I wont bother to look in its direction.
Same goes with Punisher. The first movie was a joke. Frank Castle is a bad ass. The movie made him out to be completely different.
Was John Travolta in that movie btw?? I cant remember for some reason.
jk.
I dont like Hellboy either, both movie nor comic. Nor the character itself.
Watchmen was also something I just couldnt get into.
Wolverine....hmmm mmmmaybe. If they give him a costume.
Superman=no way. The first one put me to sleep. ...<_<
So yeah, the only two i do want to see is Dark Knight and Ironman.
And effin Mortal Kombat! ...lol sorry had to. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Never been a fan at all, practically most of them were a big disappointment. The problem: All of them were kiddie movies. _________________ I am disrespectful to dirt!

...no, that's the problem with Spiderman movies. V for Vendetta and Constantine were not 'kiddie' movies. Nor was Spawn or Blade. A lot of the more popular superheroes tend to follow that shit-trailed screenplay, which is why I get so damn excited when a dark Batman movie, and hardcore Punisher movie are in production.
By the way, I've been hearing news about Magneto, which is based off of his relationship with X. David S. Goyer will direct and write it (he directed the Invisible and wrote the screenplay for the Jumper). I think choosing such a modern, inexperienced director is sketchy considering the classic subject. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

Disagree. They were all kiddie movies, even if the ratings says otherwise. The makers were targeting kids and teenies without fail. _________________ I am disrespectful to dirt!

I was in the theater for each of those movies and perhaps only in Blade did I see anyone below the age of sixteen; packed theaters. I doubt 'kiddies' could even understand V for Vendetta, or perceive the humor in Spawn. Batman Begins drew a crowd of everyone and satisfied the majority of everyone. Some target kids, though some just happen to be liked by kids. Who tends to watch the most movies?
You can say Marvel sells 'kiddie' movies, but you can't tell me DC Vertigo or Image have faltered. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

It's against the law to admit people under age into the theatres, unless they're accompanied by an adult. That's why. _________________ I am disrespectful to dirt!

...not all theaters are accompanied by law enforcement...ever. Each Saw was packed with teenyboppers.
Meh...who cares. Certain movies I'd just find hard to believe were 'intended' for kids. The Wachowski Brothers knew who V's audience was when they started the script. Same for the others.
Simply, Iron Man will have a very general audience (child friendly *eye roll*), while the Dark Knight very clearly specifies an age group (I'm sure you've seen the trailer). _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

...I hate to say it, but Iron Man looks massacred.
The Punisher finished filming, so expect to see a trailer soon. Lexi Alexander directed it, and for some reason, after watching Green Street Gooligans, I'm not worried. She's clearly a kick-ass director.
Oh, and for anyone that found entertainment out of the Spiderman movies, they're definitely over (thank...you), and Sam Raimi's going to direct both Hobbit movies instead. Yes...two. They've figured out a way to make as much money as possible. Congratulations assholes. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

Script writers and directors may want one thing, marketers want something else. And all of the movies you mentioned come out with kid's merchandise, which proves this fact. Hell, even cigarettes are marketed indirectly at kids, but they won't admit it. _________________ I am disrespectful to dirt!

I'm sure as hell looking forward towards comic movies coming out. Iron Man I have never really been a fan of so not that one. Incredible Hulk 2 is gonna be great since they have given him a decent villain this time which was the only thing really missing from the last Hulk movie (and the CGI did not look bad, everyone had read reviews of a fake looking Hulk and believed in it, remember big green men aren't real so its gonna be fake). I enjoyed the first Hellboy so will go and see the next one. The Dark Knight hell yeah since Bats is back on track. I am looking forward to both X-Men Origins films. Superman will depend on how I feel. Punisher was a good film that I thought once again got unfair treatment from critics who influenced the millions to see the negative side of the film so hopefully War Zone will boost support. _________________ Yippie Ki Yay

...I never had a problem with the CGI in the Hulk, but the budget didn't match half of what it is for the Incredible Hulk...so any grudges on that part should be dismissed.

...of course all movies based on comics were targeted for children, the same as they were targeted for everyone else. Their target being a general audience does not enforce them being 'kiddie' movies. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."
