First this post is not to intended to break the rules or offend anyone.
The thing is that I noticed is the appearance of Jade. Just out of sheer curiosity, (other than Edenian) what race is she? In MK3 and UMK3 she appeared to be black by our standards, in the MK annailation movie she appeared chinese, but in MKD and MKA she appeared white w/a tan, maybe hispanic, or mid-eastern by our standards. But she's Edenian, maybe they have different races too. Anyway tell me what you think about her. Since MKD this question has been making me wonder.

Jade tends to be the more favored female, alongside Mileena, likely because of her skin...or they just like the color green. Her ethnicity has never been mentioned, leaving us to assume there are different ethnicities in Edenia, the same as there are on Earthrealm.
Now realistically, her skin is darker for two reasons; variety in ethnicity to be politically correct, and character differentiation (as you know they all looked the same back then).

No matter hw she looks, she looks great

The 2nd Live Action movie along with her name lead many to believe that she is asian. In MK 2 her sprites outside of the SNES/Genesis ports had a dark complexion. In the MK Comics by Malibu, she is also depicted as lighter skinned (white/asian??).

...the movies and comics have false depictions normally, I'd only trust the games. Within, she's not supposed to be anything of such, not even the same species.

Maybe since she 's a royal body guard she spends her day out in the Edenian sun, which would make her darker? I don't know, I'm just shooting at the moon.

Meh, I prefer to think that they, in terms of genes and looks, are just like humans, in that they can/do have different skin tones therefor, a more diverse bunch.
