well, taking adventage of this next forum, i want to ask the favorites for be returning in mk8, mine is of course sub-zero, i have a great hope to seeing him again, i think that scorpion will also return, because is the crator favorite and for many fans too

My favorite character is kung lao and johnny cage i hope they appear in next movie it is said that the movie is based on the deadlly alliance so anyway they will die but i hope they die with a good fight i think is kung lao the last one of earth warriors to die by the deadlly alliance just before raiden , i love the fact that liu kang dies cause its a way of getting off the same history of every main character that they always win , but now in mortal kombat the main character is dead . KEEP IT UP ED

I hope they bring back my two favorites in Kitana and Ermac it be awesome to see them still in there.

I would like to see the rosters from MKDA and MKD except for Mavado, Drahmin, Kabal, Darrius, and Diarou. That would be the greatest roster IMO.

Get rid of Kobra, Li Mei, Mavado, Sindel, Bo Rai Cho, Nightwolf, Darius, Dairou, Motaro, Jax, Drahmin, Moloch, Hotaru, Havik, Onaga, Goro, Fujin, Hsu Hao, Jarek, Kai, Kira, Meat, Mokap, Sareena and Shang Tsung. Hell, even kill off Scorpion for a few games and shock the fans! The above fighters (in my opinion) dont really have a huge fanbase. They just kinda take up space and have been there-done-that if ya get me. Other fighters lke Smoke, Jade and Chameleon could go "Missing in action", not percisely dead but simply waiting for their shot in the roster for MK9.

Im not a great fan of scorpion, but if they ignore him like in mk3, maybe thats a finish him for midway. The fans dont get really happy with armageddon, and the mk team will use any resource for reviving that passion, and one resource is him

If Scorpion doesnt come back in the next installment, Im not buying it. Pure and simple.
Both Scorpion and Sub-Zero are like the Ken and Ryu of Street Fighter.

I'm with Darkspecter on this one. If Scorpion doesn't make the cut, I'm out for buying the new one. Scorpion is one of those characters you have to have. Just like Doug said, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the Ken and Ryu of Street Fighter. If Scorpion goes, Mortal Kombat will not have anything left. It's not just their rivalry that holds MK together, it's their background as well. Everyone wants to know a lot about Scorpion, and the same with Sub-Zero. It's not only their rivalry, but the rivalry between Scorpion and Quan Chi. The question is: will Scorpion ever get the satisfaction of Quan Chi's death?

Im aware killing Scorpion off would most likely end the franchise, but it would shock the fans to think he was gone and shock treatment (in my personal opinion) is what MK needs. Scorpions latest rivalry is Quan Chi, in terms of storyline he no longer has any vendetta against Sub-Zero anymore. Its like switching Ryu's rivallry with Ken to having him rival E-Honda. In my eyes, Scorpion takes up too much attention in MK and the team's desire to scratch his fanbase's needs have resulted in his storyline becoming alot weaker. If they want to start MK off again then the rivalry with Sub-Zero should be one of the things that should go because its way too outdated. Although thats my personal opinion and though its open to debate I am entitled to it. As you can tell ive never really been a fan of him, especially after the way he gets stronger and easier to use in every game to date just over the fact that fans like him. But thats going off topic.
To revitalise the series I think some elements of the past games should stay. For example, Kitana is a must as her rivalry with Mileena could go far deeper and she is yet to become Queen of Edenia. Even if they just tied up and re-started new storylines for the characters I dont think there would be a need to kill so many of them off. Even though it would be nice to see Sindel in a grave

I think it's pretty safe to say that Scorpion and Sub-Zero aren't going anywhere... ever.
As for the others. If they were smart over at Midway, they would keep Quan Chi because there's so much plot going on with him. As much as I hate to say it, Shao Kahn is more than likely, finally gone as will be Onaga and so they will have to come up with a new emperor. They ahould also hang on to shinnok. Only because they made such a big deal about his return... but he won't be around.
All wise choices aside, I would enjoy to see Noob Saibot and Ermac stick around... but, let's be serious. They won't

I don't think we can have Sub-Zero without Scorpion. It just wouldn't be right.
For me, a good roster would include:
Raiden
Sub-Zero
Scorpion
Ermac
Quan Chi
Shao Kahn
Fujin
Sonya
Reptile
Meat
Shinnok
I'd DEFINITELY exclude:
Sheeva
Shujinko
Ashrah
Mavado
Bo' Rai Cho

I just want to see Sub Zero and Scorpion back, then all new cast.
If a couple more oldies sneak in I wanna see Raiden and Fujin, maybe
Reptile but for me, I am sold on having a 80-90% new character cast.
I think it will help MK go in the right direction.
