is foolish make a fight here only to argue who are the bests characters and the worst, everybody has their likes and dislikes, i like sub-zero, i dislike shujinko, maybe "x" likes shujinko but not for that i will hate "x".
So dont get angry for that simply question, keep the fight in the game

hi there, first I just want to say Hi! to everyone 'cause I'm new here and it's great to actually find a forum where everyone can discuss Mk. The site is also full of great stuff. Now, on topic, IMO Mk8 should definitely have Scorpion, Sub-zero and Raiden. Those 3 are the essential MK characters. Now, as a personal touch I would love to see Shinnok and Shang. That's about all.
Also would like to see the fact that Midway chooses quality over quantity regarding new chars. because I really don't want to see Kobras, Kiras or Darriuses. (btw, I think I might have fought with Kobra once, or maximum twice  ).

Who was fighting we r all voicing our opinions and i respect those who have different opinions than me thats what this site is about voicing opinions about mk

This is my ideal list of returning characters. Though I would add some others in there too. Liu Kang, Fujin, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. It'd be nice to conclude the whole Scorpion vs Quan Chi thing, it has been going for a long time.

I suppose it would be hard to come up with a decent story for Liu Kang. It would be kinda cool if he returned as the new mentor for the new warriors.

There IS a Mortal Kombat without Scorpion. Mortal Kombat 3 anyone? Even Sub-Zero wasn't the assassin we knew him as in MK3, which I think proved a point: Scorpion and Sub-Zero aren't needed for a successful game. Even Raiden wasn't in MK3.
We need characters that were put in without further story development. Kai, Nitara, Fujin, Stryker, Jarik, Sektor, and many more could be listed. Nothing, bothers me more both as a writer and as a gamer then when a character doesn't get their just amount of story and time.

Wasn't there a huge uproar when Scorpion wassn't in Mortal Kombat 3? Same went about Sub-Zero being changed. MK3 wasn't considered that great but UMK3 and MKT were.

OUt of the 2D Mks, I would have to say MK3 was the weakest because
of the lack of Scorpion, and a real Sub Zero, plus many other things.
Of course this is all MHO.
No Raiden in MK3 bugged me, but I grew to like Night Wolf, then in MK4
Fujin. They were my Raiden replacements.
I almost never use Scorpion, but I believe he has to be in the new one.
Also, I like the characters you listed that need to be in it for new story excpet, (like we have talked about) Stryker, and Jarek, hallow thief of a character that one is.
But Fujin and Kai I would LOVE to see in the next MK
