Post subject: MK8 Title? |

I saw an interesting thread at the Midway forums regarding MK8's official title. Lots of speculation about it, I said I would like the title: [b]Mortal Kombat: Fresh Blood[b] as long as there is lots of new characters. What do you guys think...what would be a good title for MK8?

i really dont believe that mk8 will have a title with the words blood, corpse, meat, pain, satan or something similar, maybe death but no the others.
In the other way a new beginning sounds. well a little gentle in the case of mk games, if the title is similar to that, maybe Mortal Kombat Genesis could be the title.
But we dont have any information about the results of armageddon, so is hard to make any prediction, hope for new news soon

Hm... a title for MK8 would be both good and bad. Riddle me this one:
Mortal Kombat 1-4 had no real titles. We knew them simply as Mortal Kombat. And beyond that, we knew which Mortal Kombat was being talked about when the character roster was being talked about. Take the first two Mortal Kombats as examples.
When people think MK1, they think the original seven: Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Sonya, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Kano. They also think of the bosses, Goro and Shang Tsung, and the hidden fighter, Reptile.
Now we switch to MK2. What makes people think of MK2? Doubled up roster. Going from 7 to 14, tripple the hidden characters, harden the bosses from Goro to Kintaro and from Shand Tsung to Shao Kahn. And they also think of the new charatcers; Kung lao, Kitana, Baraka, ect...
You see, it wasnt the name that made people think of the game, it was the characters. But when we look at MK5-7 which have titles, what do we think?
Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armaggedon.
With titles came a switch in our mind set. I believe we started to think less of the characters themselves, and more on the story of the game. With DA, we were amazed at the team of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi obliterating both sides of good and evil, to rise to power. In Deception, we were shocked to see them fail in the end, as the Dragon King, Onaga was revived thanks to the foolish Shujinko. And in Armageddon, all we could focus on was the death of our favorites.
So, what's the point to all this? I think the title will decide what we will think of. If they just call it Mortal Kombat 8, we will be more inclined to think of the characters themselves, but if it was given a title, our minds will be fixed on it, and look more on how the title reflects the current story.
Personally; I'd be happy just to see it as Mortal Kombat 8.

yes, this topic is to maybe try to adivine the next title, but no to spent all day thinkin in that, i personally dont think that the next mk will be called mk8, so we put a good number of posibbly titles, but maybe none is correct, only the time will tell the truth

I would like Mortal Kombat: Redux. It has a nice ring to it. If the new characters absolutely suck though they may as well call it Mortal Kombat: Noobs

im, i dont know, i dont think that is the true title, but if is, it lets me think that maybe the new boss is a unstopable beast/human who only seeks for death and the annihilation for everybody

How's that any different then any other boss that's been in MK? |
 well, i dont know how to explain, the alder bosses tried to conker everything, and blaze was a neutral guy that tried to put a good end to all, but i think that the next boss will be a little mad, maybe a entity that only seeks for chaos, and the destruction of everything, if you analyze it, is very different from the others

thats a nice analogy, its the first name that ithink that has a great possibility to be, also, we can see eyes in the countdown, that are 2 circles, the earth and the moon, other two circles, i think that the next plot with contain something about the moon
Ohhh, moon has two circles too, the 2 cicles analogy is too deep
