Post subject: A new hero? |

What characteristics will this new hero have, what would his past have been like? or maybe have and older character as the hero? what stuff would you like to see on this new guy? and maybe a mentor like raiden before he was evil?
i would like to see this new guy have a dark past, a darker mentality, perhaps the evil guy can play mind games with him because of his dark past. This guy needs to be strong, but not too strong, not too muscly but would have to be a master in kung fu or something...his moves could be based on fire? or maybe even Earth based moves

ohh, good question, i personally will be fine without a "hero", but i think that is necessary for the game.
if our dear jang does rotten totally, i want a man with differents ideals than the tipical of save the day, or vengeance desires,anyways its hard to explain it, or think it

I think we can pretty much say goodbye to Liu Kang. Afterall, he's had quite a story. After his neck was snapped in half, and his becoming a zombie, then showing up at the final battle for Armageddon, I think he's gone. Besides, when the MK Team creates the game, I'm sure they will designate a new hero, but they will leave it to us to figure out who it is.

Yeah and also we can't say the hero will be a guy hero again the Mk team might make it a female hero this time around.

I just can't imagine a MK game with alot of the classic characters gone. It just won't be the same.

HAHA! Your avatar cracked me up dude! Ok anyway, I feel the same. The classic characters are in a league of their own. Any fighters after MK4 should be dropped the hell off. The MK team should look for the right places for inspiration on their new fighters.

personally, if i had to chose, i prefer taven than shujinko, altrough i dont like the name taven, sound like tamed

I liked Shujinko. I thought he was a pretty kool character. He had a pretty kool story too. A young man starting an adventure to find the kamidogu only to be betrayed by the being he thought to be his friend, Damashi (Onaga). Taven was kool too. I can only hope this games Hero will best both Shujinko and Taven in terms of koolness.

Liu Kang has been an alright "hero" but, Shujinko and Taven were so stupidly lame hero's. In fact, Shujinko did have a good story/ending, as for Taven....well, I couldn't get into him period. I'm saying as in, story/ending/character-wise.
There will probably be a new "hero" in MK8. and it could be a new character or it might be someone like, Bo Rai Cho, Kung Lao, or a female. Which I'd rather see, a female hero and not a male again.

I think that Liu Kang was more than an ok hero, he was brilliant, he was Bruce Lee basically. But I agree in the fact that he has been taken as for as his character can go. I mean look at his past record in MKs 1-4 he won every tournament, MKDA he was killed, MKD was resurrected as a zombie and we will have to wait until MK8 until we find out how he "officially" ended up in MKA. I feel though that the Taven ending is the one they are going to pick since it says some die, some lose their powers and some remain unaffected. I personally would like to go back the the original premises of a tournament to stop Earthrealm becoming part of Outworld. No heroes just a selection of the best fighters available.

Liu Kang is awesome and very underrated these days. As a Bruce fan(just look at my user name) Liu is one of my favs. But I can't really say him returning is all that essential. He has been stretched enough in terms of story. If Taven returns as a hero, he needs a re design. I dunno why, but I don't like his look that much. I would really want Kung Lao as a hero, but we'll see soon what Boon and Co has in mind.

What if... Ed Boon makes his "Champion of the Elder Gods" thing come true and make SCORPION the hero? I mean, when has Scorpion ever truly died? He dies one time, he comes back later, he dies another time, he comes back then as well. This is a huge possibility looking at the fact that Scorpion is Ed Boon's favorite character and he was only absent from 1 MK game probably because of Memory space and the want of new characters.

He was absent cause the character model had been fired. That why there are no male ninjas in MK3 (except Sub-Zero but unmasked anyway).

The want of new characters. That's one of MK Teams weaknesses in my opinion. Getting rid off many characters while there is still a lot of things to work on the old characters. Hope they get the characters right this time.
