I agree. Jax shouldn't be the only Muay Thai user, and this new hero could have a quicker, more disciplined, and more advanced style of Muay Thai, meaning he could be very effective once you're good at his moves, but is a little more difficult to perform over Jax's.

Tony Jaa is an amazing martial artist. I've only seen a couple of his movies (Ong Bak, The Protector... I'm actually not sure if he's done any others), but they were SO impressive.
I could totally see a new character (maybe not the new hero, but definitely a main character) with Muay Thai moves... they totally need to make one of his signature moves an elbow to the head, though. or a double knee to the chest. =) |
I love those moves you mentioned, they would look awesome in a game. Just got a Fatality idea, the enemy is standing still(groggy), and we see the fire in Jaa character's eyes, just like the movie(Ong Bak), and then he jumps up on his shoulders and BAM! An elbow making the opponents head hanging by his throat to the body from a semi-decapitation. By the way a sequel to Ong Bak is planned. I also think a better Muay Thai character than Jax should exist. Someone better, disciplined, quicker and more advanced, just like Hybridfury mentioned. You can come up with a lot of moves for someone like Jaa.

ooohh, i remember him now, but these are really cool moves, the best fighting styles are veruy illustrative and versatile, however, i havent seen other martial arts in real life. But do you know kapoeira??? it would be really cool to see it

Yes I know it. Also someone famous who is a pretty famous capoeira practioner: Lateef Crowder. He actually had a fighting scene with Tony Jaa in The Protector. Here it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta2fv0BcR-4 Very cool scene. I'm not sure if I would like to see Capoeira, not one of my favorites. However it's a beautiful show martial art to watch. My favorite acrobatic martial arts are Tae Kwon Do and Wushu. Wushu would be simply awesome to have in MK8, Jet Li does it quite a lot I think. You should search some videos with Wushu.

I won't miss MK. I play it every damn day! There will be more MK in the future and hopefully better, hopefully will get the real answers regarding the story. I'm going play MK Vs DC by the way.

True, everyone will play it. Maybe they should have done this as an arcade game first so they could sort of get a public reaction. I would have gone to the arcade with my buddies to try it.

I can confirm for myself that i will not be buying that game or even trying it. Like i said my money can be used for more better things like getting another xbox live 12 year +1 free month card when my first one runs out or better made games that always come out good and i like them for example sports games. If the next Mortal Kombat game to come out after this crappy one is the real one we all want then i'd gladly spend my money on that true mortal kombat one.

Heres me still crossing my fingers for a REAL MK continuation title since Armageddon.
Like Vain mentioned earlier, Boon never really said this was MK8. Just a way to introduce MK into the new consoles. Id be most happy to ignore its existence knowing the real sequel is coming soon.

What's MK without fatalities? ... Street Fighter.
Don't get me wrong, I like Street Fighter, but MK is about kicking your opponent's ass and then finishing him/her in a very gruesome way. Without that, all you got is Street Fighter with MK characters and superheroes.
