Until I hear it for real that this is MK8, as in the chronological chapter after Armageddon, then I refuse to accept this as a sequel game.
I mean come on... it just SCREAMS "spin-off game". Honestly, do you guys really want the DC universe to be meshed with the MK canon? Do you really want to end up hearing "The realms were in the brink of destruction... until Superman saved the day"? Are you kidding me?
Some people thought that Shaolin Monks was MK7 when news was first released and then it turned out to be a spin-off of MK2. We just have to wait for more information to tell for sure.

I couldn't stop laughing at that man, Ya im hoping MK Vs. DCU is just a spinoff, Im really concerned this is gonna open up the door for many more MK Vs ??? sequels
If another crossover game comes out I recommend MK Vs. Killer Instinct... but I hope there won't be anymore

In the interview video clip i saw, the guy on the mic asked Boon if this ties in the MK mythology and freakin Boon said "welll...." and I was like oh god no... And he really was hesitant about it and said that there MIGHT be some cannoncy but he's not sure yet. 0_o Are you freaking kidding me??
Theyre trying to figure out whether they can actually make it work for a future MK title which if possible, may be able to pick up after it.
I was just...ugh. So theres a chance this game may play part in the chronological series in some weirdo way. I don't know.
At this point, Im sooooo convinced, Boon gives less than a rats ass about what MK fans think. He has this hard on wet dream look on his face about doing a cross overs just like every other fighter game thats done it and he wants to join in on that fun and doesn't seem to care if he has to back away from the TRADEMARK fatality finishing moves or other things like the harpoon going through Superman's chest and whatever or like Boon says "or whatnot".
Oh but wait! You will get to see the fighters punch their masks off!! wooohoo!! ...sarcasm sarcasm.
COME ON!! 
ok im actually laughing right now because i dont know how else to react aside from being very dissapointed.

i'm not sure how to react i like the thought, and would buy the game by the looks of the video but i also feel like it is a cheap idea, a simple idea. Not the creative Mortal Kombat that used to be! This idea has been done alot and i thought that MK was doing something a bit more to the story line, but from what i've heard this is MK8! No fatalities? you juust senselessly beat them to death, fatalities gave the opposition a reason to die, i mean noone can live without their spine! But usually MK fighters can withstand the heavy punches and jabs they receive so it doesn't really make sense....
This game should not be MK8 i think Boon is reconsidering, he seemed so happy that he had done this but now he is unsure whether the fans will appreciate this game. I think this game has the potential to be great! think about it superman vs scorpion, sub-zero vs batman, you have to admit they have been quite clever, i mean this will not only be bought by MK fans but also DC fans! This will make a nice hefty income for the MK team. But i doubt if they made another MK8 in a couple of years, you would all buy it and so would i, noone would lose faith in what they can do, so they are in a win win situation right now.
It's about the story that they can make, 2 worlds collide, one huge fight to see who gains control of this planet, i would like to see the outcome they have come up with! This could be soo great, yeah fatalities are gone, big shame but they were only the icing on the cake, now if they made the cake really nice i could eat it without icing thats for sure !
Also this may not be MK8 and maybe just testing the new gaming engine, the unreal tournament 3 engine or whatever it is, he said he wanted to do this since MK3 so why not make a non canon game, if this was canon i'd struggle to understand the story of how this ties in with Armageddon, or even if that is the big event that merged the 2 universes, hard to understand how these universes merge but nonetheless i want to find out!

This can also be an attempt to get the attention from the new gen gamers, in order for them to tune into this and as well as future MK titles. Maybe they are in need for a shock like this.

This game better be a spinoff, I cant fathom this being in the MK story.

ofcourse i want there to be a canon MK8 instead of this but i still think MK vs DC will be a good game, the fighting while falling concept looks cool, and this will be a chance to test out the new gaming techniques they are using...

When I told a friend of mine about this game, he almost shit his pants in excitement over it. He's a gamer as well as a bit of a comic geek, he was already getting ahead of himself and planning on having epic fights like Green lantern vs Shang Tsung.
This will be the biggest audience for this game. Think of it like this: the majority of gamers, are older men. When those men were younger, odds are, they loved comics. Thus, not only does this new game bring hopes of a new game for the new gen consoles, but it also brings something to lure in more of a fan base: though from what I've heard on the DC side of things, they're pretty pissed too.
Again, I still want to try and hope this game will turn out to be at least enjoyable, though I already know most of my fighting game time will be spent killing Darth Vader with Cassandra in Soul Calibur 4, it'll still be a refreshing break...

That is the exact thought process of Midway and DC, they're doing this to shock people, they're doing this to get attention, they're doing this to get money. We can't blame them on any of these points, so long as the game is good.

I suppose if I was a DC fan as well as an MK fan then I would probably shit my pants too but unfortunately I only like Batman from the DC comics. It probably doesn't help that I am a Marvel fan who takes joy in the fact Marvel beat DC in the Comic series that came out back in the late 90s.

Same here, obviously I am upset MK8 is some crossover,
but what bugs me even more its DC?! DC is weak. just weak.
MK vs My Little Ponys would be just as good as DC.
