You know, I just had a thought regarding a comment made by someone on youtube. Someone said he was excited about this title because he was expecting to see a killer combination of play modes like the ones found in Armageddon. Such as Conquest, Chess Kombat, Kreate A Fighter etc etc.

Now, as far as anyone knows, im not sure those will even make it to the new disk. Infact, I very much doubt it.
I wonder if that will tarnish it to some extent for some fans...hmmm.

Personally, I am a little spoiled by all the goodies inserted in both Deception and Armageddon.

I can imagine it now...

MK vs. DCU Konquest..

You play as Scorpion, running around beating up superheroes for no reason.
OR
You play as Batman, running around beating up MK guys for no reason.

Basically, thats what MK vs. DCU's konquest will be if there even gonna be a konquest mode on the game.

Heh! That was pretty enthuiastic! Anyway, Boon said that there will be a story mode and it's playable from the franchises' own perspectives. Also that it will be nothing like the previous konquest modes. Imagine if a Konquest like GTA games would be included. Carjacking with Scorpion! That'd be f'd up.

Dude if Scorpion was in GTA all those missions where the targets run away would be so easy, "Come here, bitch!" and you would have the guy like that. To put this in perspective we should look at other crossovers.

Alien vs Predator- Good video games, comics, all right films

Alien vs Predator vs (ENTER DC CHARACTER)- Stupid as hell.

For Dark Specter Robocop vs Terminator- Good comic, not so good game

Marvel Zombies vs the Army of Darkness- Good but odd comic

Anyone else want to contribute on crossovers?

Since I haven't heard anything, I'm pretty much going to accept that this might be MK8. I'll be strong. I'm sure there's a support group out there.

Examples of cross-overs gone wrong:

Pocket Fighter, Capcom vs SNK, and Super Smash Brothers (To a degree)

how in the world is that a cross-over gone wrong? Super Smash Bros. has been one of the biggest games like, ever. my husband was frothing at the mouth when he found out about Brawl. hell, even I play it, and that's saying something.

the only screw-up with SSB, in my opinion, was the addition of Sonic and Snake. I mean, Nintendo may have the rights to the characters, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll fit into the SSB universe well. (although, mechanics-wise, they're sound, even if Sonic's a bit overpowered.)

I just can't stand a game that takes no skill to play, and Smash Brothers is one of them. A person playing for the first time can beat the game with ease; it's simply just a matter of doing mass damage, or being able to throw them off the side of the arena. Or getting the hammer or star, either of the options works.

Snake was decent to play as, but I don't see how adding him was a bad move. And I don't get why people complain so much about Sonic; Sonic is nothing more then a good Marth or Ike's bitch. Counter stance, then power slash. Simple, clean, effective.

wow, I must be like, the worst player evar, then. 'cause I can't pick up the controller and stomp ass. wish I could, but alas. we're not all BA, I guess. ^_^;

and I think people are more complaining about Snake as a character, ya know... being a piece of the SSB puzzle that doesn't quite fit. you can see what they're talking about, right?

Yea, not everyone I guess can pick it up and be good, but I still say it doesn't require much skill.

I don't get why they complain Snake being in it, yet have no complaints about Samus. Granted, she's a hot woman, but story wise, she's simular to Snake. And come on, like Samus teaming up with Pikachu is something that makes sense... that was just the oddest paring for partners.

Ive actually never played SSB. EVER.
lol. It just doesn't catch my eye. Looks very kiddie fun to me. BUT, dont take offense to that comment. Im sure its gotta be fun if a lot of people are raving about it.
It just happens to be one of those games that Im pretty sure I'll never get around playing because of my lack of interest.

Im not a big crossover fan myself. I own Capcom vs SNK2, that was kinda cool only because watching Fatal Fury characters and Street Fighter go at it, was something I always wondered about as a youngster years back. But that game came too late. By the time I had it in my hands, I lost interest pretty quick.

Marvel vs Capcom has nice animation/presentation but omg... I hated the gameplay, and i nearly got a seizure trying to figure out the game's mechanics. I never understood the mixture of all those characters until i found out Capcom pretty much owned all of them except the Marvel stuff.
However, id like to add that since Capcom began with X-MEN and Marvel Superheroes, we all knew a cross over was coming.

Midway never did a DC fighter that made us say.."they sooo should make a cross over with MK".

Capcom snatched up the better comic company in terms of popularity. DC is pretty stale in terms of comic entertainment due to the higher ups not trying new things with their properties.

Anyways, cross overs. Yeah... Some can be justified. Others can't.

lol, my husband was reading over my shoulder and scoffed, "hah, he hasn't put the computer on the highest setting then, obviously."

he did make a good point, though... for full enjoyment, the game shouldn't be played alone. it's definitely your quintessential "invite your friends over and compare e-peens" kinda game. the computer isn't gonna challenge you much, and I prefer it that way. it gives people like me the opportunity to still enjoy the game.

but what I was saying before about Sonic and Snake had nothing to do with the mash-up kind of game it is. I was referring more to the fact that neither character was originally a Nintendo character. a lot of fans felt that they were being betrayed over a Sega character being put in the roster.

hehe, I've gotten terribly off-topic with this discussion. my apologies, everyone. ^_^;

Actually, I have though, put it on the highest, and though there was a noticeable difference, but still not to the point that made me lose more then win.

Sadly, the most fun I got out of that game, was designing areas to fight in; I just wish they would have allowed you to layer things more closely together, and given you more to work with.

Sonic partically does belong, as Sonic has already had a cross over into nintendo's turf before. And if I remember correctly, Nintendo actually owns most of the rights to Sonic. As for Snake, he oriiginally was a Nintendo character, so he does fit.

But indeed, we're getting off topic.
