Wait until the game comes out and don't buy it. I know some of you will still be tempted because of your loyalty to all things MK but resist the urge (rent it if you have to). After midway stock plummets we all pick up the stock for pennies per share. We then take over and voice our displeasure with the way things are going and force someone to bring this franchise back to some semblance of its glory days. Its foolproof.

The opinions have definitely been voiced and Boon knows very well that many fans arent exactly thrilled by his act. But all we can really do now is just wait and see. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

I garrantee it wouldn't work. For it to work, millions of gamers would have to not buy the game over the span of at least a business quarter. Unless the game was that terrible to begin with, that just doesn't happen. _________________

Your idea is ok overall but you tend to forget that not only mk fans will buy this game. There are a lot of DC fans out there which will purchase it.

It was just a joke everybody. Except for the part about not buying it an renting it if you have too. Although crappy MK sales would definately hurt Midway stock I can't really see any situation that would drive the price down to pennies as I stated. I was just being silly. Not MK VS DCU silly but just joking around none the less. I have been dissapointed for a while with the MK games coming out since about MK4. I think the team an A for the quality of the gameplay in everything but the spinnoffs (Mythologies, Shaolin Monks) but a D for story. Every time they come out with a new game I am more dissapointed that they wasted an opportunity to bring in a good story to complement it. With this game they have convinced me that they have just completly given up. It will probably be fun to play but I won't be buying it. And I won't be buying Midway stock either.

This game will definitely make some sales. But its reputation is another story. If the game offers nothing new in comparison to competition production like the Soul Calibers, Street Fighters, MvsC games, and dare i say it, T...Tekk...cough, that game, well, the fans will speak out about it and it will ultimately bury the game.
Im telling ya, if they make a good cannon MK game right after this mess, this mess wont be so bad to me afterall. I'll look at it like a cheap novelty like Boon said it was to begin with. But Boon will have to dig far deep in his butt to impress me now (yeah, i know im just one gamer saying that). But those are the facts.
I obviously love MK so much to still be saying things about this subject.
It really is helping me get through it.
Ive said I was over it about 2 days ago. Obviously Im not. lol..

midway already knows how much backlash they are getting from this title, but they just wanted to prove that MK can be in one of those 'VS games' and work, which i hope it does work and be a great game ,for the love of MK
but depending if i wll buy it or not is still a matter of time, when more info and a roster is released ill hold my judgment,i just wish for brutal finishers and a true MK feel even tho DC is involved
a real MK8 should surface _________________ True Victory is reserved for those Willing to pay its Price

I hear ya Iganinja.
For me its quite simple. Im not putting down 500.00 dollars for a new system and a game Im not even thrilled about.
I shall wait patiently for something better to come along.
Had this been released for PS2, id probably rent it just to know what it is like. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Seriously if we ownded Miday and a big bag of money is thrown in front of me and was told "We are making a crossover game" I'm sure I'd sell-out... I have a problem that always want me to be richer. _________________ Yippie Ki Yay

I wouldn't call it a sell-out. It's just something Ed Boon has wanted to do for a long time, since MK3 or something. I kinda wish people would be more open minded about this. Maybe then the boards would have some diversity and traffic. I'm looking forward to this, looking for updates and alll that. I'm patient for the next MK too, to see what it'll do with the story.
Willro,
My friend has an X360, it's working fine for him. But I've heard a lot about it's quality and all that. To me there are other games then MK vs DC that tempts me for a PS3.

I know full well that Ed wanted to make a mk crossover for a very long time, and I respect that, but this is a very huge change in the series, and alot of MK fans might not like the changes. _________________ YOU HAVE FOUND ME! NOW PROVE YOURSELF! -Reptile

I really wouldn't call it a total sell out. As stated before, it was something Boon had been wanting to do for ages now, (Perhaps connected to Tobias leaving? Who knows.) and this is his dream game now. I can understand where Boon is coming from to a degree on this.
But at least the staff is taking this game seriously. As much as fans from both sides are bitching, Boon has taken this game with professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication; I think that tends to be something the majority of us are over looking. He knew he wasn't able to stay true to both sides of the game, so he did the right thing and hired writers from the other side to show them how their characters react. Yes, we're losing a bit of what makes MK a MK game, but in the end we're getting a game that's getting taken more seriously then MK Armageddon did. _________________
