I'd agree to the not much games that are worth it to a degree. It's really a mater of personal opionion. And to me, when I saw Disgaea 3 for PS3, I knew I had to grab a PS3. Not to mention, 90% of the games that come to PS3 after being on 360, have a lot less bugs, and more content. Oblivion is a great example of that.
And a friend of mine had a newer model 360 and still got the RROD, though it's really a matter of luck and what you use your 360 for.
And no, you dont have to install your games onto your hard drive, some games require it, like Oblivion and Devil May Cry 4, but for most part, not many do. It's only the games that have a ton of stuff in them and can't handle being all read directly from disk.

As I said before RROD death now only occurs when downloading updates for games it better to update the console when you want to play the latest games (they come with the update and is more secure). I would have probably (and probably still) got a PS3 if there were more games, kind of ironic cause I got a PS2 because Gamecube didn't have many games. At the moment I can only think of two games I would want to get on a PS3. Drake's Fortune and Metal Gear Solid 4.
