This is a Mugen game, un-released yet , but i must say it's teh s**t , also check out the other videos by that youtube user, they added the backgrounds, music and sound effects from recent games but that's not all..awesome new combos similar to supercharge ones from KOF ,new fatalities all in mk2 style, the way we like it .. I pray this comes out and has a bigger succes to fans than the new Batman&Robin game featuring Sub Zero

One yes this looks cool, but it is basically a mash up of previous fighting games.
Two this doesn't belong in classic discussion, it belongs in projects I believe. Off topic possibly since it is not yours.
I also think the combos are too long. _________________ Yippie Ki Yay

Indeed, this should go into projects. And as far as mugen games go, that ones looks horrible and very imbalanced. _________________

Isn't Mugen technically illegal? I just had a thought, since its no longer licenced. _________________ Yippie Ki Yay

That's a tricky question honestly, and one I don't have a set answer for. I believe the english version has a few legal issues, but the spanish one seems to be all fine and dandy. I haven't done too much research into it myself. But all in all, so long as no one is making a profit from their games, I don't see the problem. _________________

ts usually how I see it but I am sure that in most countries this would be considered illegal for the use of copyrighted characters. I mean I don't think it should matter, but some think that if you are willing to play this then you could be cheating Midway out of some sales of MK games. _________________ Yippie Ki Yay

I really don't like the homebrew stuff. I dunno why, but I tried another of these games, i think it was Mortal Kombat Project or something. Didn't like it at all. This one doesn't look like it will change my opinion. However, I think it's cool and fun to see that fans make this stuff.

They're still trying to perfect MK: Bloodstorm. That's why it's not available to download yet. _________________ YOU HAVE FOUND ME! NOW PROVE YOURSELF! -Reptile

Do a google search hk, might do you some good.
As for the matter of the quality of homebrews, there are some amazing ones out there. I personally am looking forward to the Card Saga Wars.
But none the less, wether or not it's legal could be highly debated, which is best left for TMK's legal team... we need a legal team! So let's keep the discussion on the low for a bit till we hear word of the real legality of it, I don't want the hammer coming down on TMK for someone else's actions. _________________

I'm only familiar with the US but there is at least some safe haven rules for people and companies that provide websites where users can post. Basically the blame would fall on the poster moreso than the site.
The english MUGEN is technically illegal since there was never an indefinate license available for it. There are legal, opensource alternatives out there. But I don't think any of them are far enough along to be considered real MUGEN replacements.
And, of course, using the graphics or even just the likenesses of characters is walking over the copyrights. I doubt Midway would go after anybody, but it could happen. There was a really nifty Halo RTS game some fans were making. They worked on it for years then got a Cease and Desist letter saying they had to stop or they'd be taken to court. It was a bummer, but its not like they had a leg to stand on. They were technically taking someone else's hard work without asking.
TangLung777, MK Project became MK Bloodstorm. MKP was pretty bad. So far bloodstorm looks about the same. Its just another broken MUGEN mashup. _________________ UltimateMK.com - The ULTIMATE Source of Kompetitive Mortal Kombat Information
