So, since pretty much characters will be casted by popularity and by how well they match up with someone from the opposing series, I'm wondering what counterparts MK characters would have.
So it's confirmed that Scorpion's counterpart is Superman and Sub-zero's is Batman.
So let's think about some others...
Shang Tsung - Joker
Jax - Lex Luthor
Princess Kitana - Wonder Woman
Mileena - Catwoman
Johnny Cage - The Flash
Nitara - Poison Ivy
Okay.. this is harder than it looks. Too bad I don't know much about DC comics.

I'd say Raiden or Liu Kang is the Superman counterpart. If it's like that I'd be happy. And Shang Tsung could be the counterpart to Martian Manhuntee, both can morph.
Others than the ones you've mentioned...
Liu Kang or Raiden - Supes.
Shang Tsung - MM
Green Lantern might be a possibility for Liu Kang too.
Bane - Goro
Darkseid - Shao Kahn
Those are the ones I can think about now. One DC char that should definitely make an apperance is Lobo, I have a feeling he'd fit in well.

Jax and Lex Luthor? What kind of pills make that connection? What would Lex Luthor do anyway?

I told ya I didn't know much about DC. Doing some research, I figured Lex Luthor probably wouldn't make the cut, but I thought that he and Kano seemed alike (at least before I actually researched) and since Jax dealt with Kano before...
I dunno.

Lex Luther isn't really the physical type of enemy he more stay in the background and laughs.

I was thinkin' and the Joker wouldn't be too good of a choice either. He's not really a brawler type villain, the same as Luthor, they just find the hero weaknesses. The Penguin, Scarecrow, and Freeze don't fit too well either. I bet some will make cameos in the storyline though.
I am actually pretty damn excited to see what the roster will be. I think once it's all out there it won't be as interesting unless they use some hidden treasure bad-asses we haven't heard of.

You'd be suprised about The Joker. In the 60s he almost disappeared completely because he was too violent. He got brought back in a bad way as some sort of goofball but as the 80s emerged he went back to black so to speak. He has got a physical fight in him but he chooses to fall back on deadly joke items.

With the proper use of creativity, anyone can be put in. I'd say the Joker would be my favorite character to be involved should he be in it (besides V).

Joker would be cool to have, he's very iconic and stuff. But coming up with a moveset for him would be a hard thing though. Same with Lex, maybe those will appear without being playabe.

Not really, his physical attack wouldn't be much, a puch here, a kick there, but his special moves could be interesting since they are all based on jokes ironically enough.

Heck yes. The very same. This talk about the Joker makes me think about The Dark Knight, which in all cases will be the greatest comic based movie to ever be released.

I loved V for the Vendetta on film and he's also the fighter type. That would be interesting to see him in an MK game.

Which makes me think, anyone else get the feeling that Havik and V would be best of freinds?

I doubt that. I think he would probably be better with Darrius.
Havik is into complete anarchy.
However, V only does what he thinks needs to be done to make the world better, which is what Darrius does.
