Okae.... okae.... maybe.... maybe this won't be so bad after all... ...
hmmm..

I remember bitching and whining that if they could atleast give these karacters actual fatalities (atleast the mk characters) that I would give it a chance.
So... my interest isn't completely demolished now. HOWEVER, Im still not crazy about the whole MK vs DC crap.
And I'm sick of people comparing it to the success of Marvel vs Capcom. Marvel has very interesting characters to work with. And Im not just saying that because I draw them. But DC, and I hate to say this, is more bland or lame even, excluding only a very small handful of characters in their universe like Batman, Lantern etc. MK team is really going to have to bring the cool into those characters which to be honest... I think they can manage just that.

But seriously, this brings more hope to the game. Fae-f'cking-talities baby.
I still think it's funny and odd how Ed said he was really surprised that fans thought there wasn't going to be any fatalities too. That's bologna! He said it in his own words that MK vs DC would NOT have fatalities but more so, T rated finishers. And now he's acting like "hey i NEVER said no fatalities". Sure you did Boon. Sure you did. We have it on tape remember?? BlaBla

But all in all, I'm glad that the voices have been taken to account and the MK team is now scrambling to do as much justice to this new upcoming and controversial title to deliver what they hope will make every MK fan gloriously happy. (pleeeaase no kid Robin. Nightwing, fine, but Robin!?)

I'm also happy to know that Ed Boon realized how much and how MANY fans still love and adore Mortal Kombat.

MORTAL KOMBAT man. You can't f-ck with that.
So let's see what this baby will bring to us. *slaps on scorpion mask again* Scorpion

Well I thought we actually knew fatalities were going tobe in it, just not as we knew them. (It's life Jim but not as we know it. Jeez did I just type that?). As for the Marvel vs Capcom thing Dark, Marvel would be better than DC because they don't follow the comic bookcode of 1955 anymore so ott violence would be cool with them. But its fun how this changed from a crashing disasterinto a possible suprise hit of 2008.

Well said Dark!
I don't like Robin, but it would be interesting to be able to beat the crap out of a kid.
And to back you up when it comes to Boon statements on fatalities, here's the video of him talking about it almost 6 weeks ago.
http://www.videogamer.com/videos/player.html?vid=1866

He discusses it at 1:30 saying:
Ed Boon wrote:
Um, I think whether we call them "fatalities" or not, I guess is the, is the question, but maybe they're just called finishing moves or something, but, you know, in terms of, like, you know, some big event that you can do at the end of a fight, to finish your opponent, um, I think that that's a high probability. I don't think we ever said, 'Okay now, can you rip Batman's head off?' You know, we didn't even bother, you know, asking that."

In the new recent article, however, he says:
http://au.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/mortalkombat/news.html?sid=6192868&mode=recent

Ed Boon wrote:
When little information is released, there are a lot of assumptions and speculation made by people, some of which quickly become (incorrect) facts. Fatalities is a great example of this. I was surprised to see so many stories stating (with so much certainty) that the game wasn't going to have fatalities. As if we made an official announcement."

So based off that, how can Boon not guess that fans would react that way when he said that even the concept of finishers wasn't totally thought through. Of course people will assume that there would be no fatalies.
...However he was right in saying that people over-assumed when there was no official statement made.

I prefer punching babies, they're more defenseless.

And see, I told ya guys, just wait it out and give the game a chance. Boon is just playing psycological warfare with us. I know this game wont let us down.

Punching babies wouldn't be that fun because one hit and they're dead.
Fighting a little kid, however would get more entertaining responses.
For instance, he could possibly fight back.
Or he could cry.
And he can take more punches.

...punching infants, sweet.

Who cares what you call them, really? Do they die? Awesome. I think it is a realistic twist to the character persona. All Mortal Kombat characters feel justified in their killing. Batman wouldn't feel justified, not in his world, so he doesn't kill. Very intellectual, very realistic, very awesome.

How real something is typically defines its respect in modern gaming. I'm expecting a storyline that lays Geddon to waste, even if it is a crossover game.
