With the exception of Sonya Blade the MK side of MKvsDC is almost the full MK2 line-up. In MKast #5, one of the Midway guys was saying that they were choosing characters mostly from the first 2 games. Does anyone else wonder if there are going to be any MK3 or later characters in the game? I think it would be cool to have a cyber-ninja like Sektor or Cyrax, but if it's Cyrax they need to give him back his net.

no... i dont think that they will put a cyber ninja in mk vs dcu...
in mk 1 and mk2 there were no cyber ninjas and if they continue choosing characters from these games... acording to the characters from mk 1 and 2 we may see some of these characters (i have not include the already confirmed characters!!):
-Kung lao (hopefully!!)
-Johny cage
-mileena
-rayden
-baraka
-kano
-reptile
there will be 11 characters for mk... so there are 4 not yet confirmed so following the logic... 3 from the list above wont be in the game (i think: mileena kano and baraka)

You forgot Smoke, Jade, Kahn, Kintaro, and Noob. They were all MK2 characters as well, so the possibility of at least Smoke in ninja form is still open.

i dont wanna see smoke in his human form!!! 
either way i have wondered this since i heard about mk vs dcu i wondered if mk3 guys would make it..and if one does i pray its cyrax!

they were in mk 2 but as un playable characters and bosses... i think that they will only use the playable characters

But we wont know that till the finally roster is announced. I find it hard to see them not put in Jade or Mileena with Kitana being in it; as well as with Tobias back doing some work, I would expect to maybe see the return of Noob Saibot.
Plus, I also find it hard to see that not a single boss, aside from Shang Tsung, being in the game.

indeed you're right... i find it hard to believe in all that 11 mk characters i think they'll use more... they have to... these characters should be in:
-jade or mileena (not them both!!)
-kung lao
-reptile
-shao kahn
-noob saibot
-a cyber ninja
-Baraka
-Johny cage (not sure)
and others...

I don't really like the MK cyborgs, but they could put one against Metallo, Cyborg from Teen Titans or Super-Cyborg!
