The initial reveal of MK vs DCU made me, along with many others, explode with rage and I had a lot of bad stuff to say. With that, I figured I'd abide to the old adage "nothing nice to say don't say anything at all." and so I remained silent. Though I spilled my guts with anger at the idea I had still kept up with the all the news of the upcoming game. I've checked TMK everyday, I've watched E3 and Comic con, and listened to all the Mkasts and I must say, I'm impressed. I was so enraged by the idea of DC being brought into the story that I didn't appreciate what was going on. They seem to be working very hard. The mecanics of the game look great, the graphics are phenomenal, and with the reveal of it having nothing to do with the actual storyline, I have no more bad things to say about this game. I'm actually pretty excited and I WILL but this game when it comes out. With that being said and with all negativity aside, I have a real question to ask:
What's the hook? I mean, why should I own this game. Look at it this way:
1. With the reveal of a max roster of 22 characters max, it's the smallest roster of any fighting game (Except Dead or Alive) in the past eight years.
Also, no offense to fans of the folowing characters, Jax, Liu Kang, and Sonya are pretty boring characters. Captian Marvel and Green Lantern too. Not seeming very heavy on picking characters. Again IMO!
2. Ed has already said that there will be no minigames and no character creator
3. The story mode has been said to be 2 1/2 to 3 hours per side. Making it six hours of actual gameplay. Armageddon's konquest was eight to ten hours.
They seem to be going a bit backwards. I hope there are some BIG reveals soon because although the game looks pretty fun. It doesn't look like it has the lasting power of the other games. So.. what's the hook? _________________

It's a first attempt at the new gen, I don't fault them for making a small game. But, I have a few disagreements.
1. The roster. No, you're wrong on it being the smallest in 8 years. One of my favorite fighting games, Arcana Heart, which is a fairly recent title, only has a character roster of 12. But damn, the diversity of those characters, and the Arcana system, more then make up for it.
If they really work hard to put some individuality within all 22 characters, and make the game play solid, I will be more then satisfied.
2. To be fair, I can go through Armageddons story line in 2 hours starting from scratch, and roughly 40 mins using a previous run through. So a 6 hour story mode, if it actually lasts that long, will be welcomed in my book.
3. No minigames and character creation, don't bother me. They're a nice touch, but not why I buy my fighting game. I buy it, for the fighting. _________________

indeed vain.....armegeddon's konquest is like 45 min ........ but when you look at the bright side it's fun and i mean FUN! ..... and the 22 charecter roster it's great .. alot of games like tekken 4 has like 10/12 charecters but it's a great game so 22 charecters is alot for a small game as you said bloody shadow. _________________ THERE IS NO KNOWLEDGE THAT IS NOT POWER!!!!!!!!!

I didn't think it was fun at all. Armageddon's konquest felt like a half assed attempt to emulate Shoalin Monks.
And Tekken... I'm waiting to see if Luke will pop out of the screen and make a comment. _________________

so here's the hook:
1- the roster: i go with vain... 22 characters with diferent moves is already very good...
2- new kombat modes during the fight: free fal kombat and close kombat
3- some arenas have a test you might
4- fighting with dc heroes but in mk style... that's pretty awesome
5- the graphics look great
6- unlike mk:sm (dont take this the bad way i love the game) there are 2 diferent stories for 2 universes... in mk:sm you fight sub-zero with sub-zero
7- the arenas look awesome...
i think that's all...
the bad thing is: it'sn only for ps3 and xbox 360...

I have to admit when i first heard of the mk vs DC i couldnt believe it,since i too was following it from day 1,the outrage blinded me for a lil while until i told myself to give it a chance,i couldnt even look at my other MK games without seeing batmans face, but now that we got info and trailers and so on and so forth i ahve to admit this game is looking damn awesome,a stand alone title that isnt canon is what made me happy and the new moves of sub-zero and the like definitely have me impressed
the graphics also are amazing, i will be buying this game no doubt, and the gameplay of the game will be what hooks me for days/weeks,after the story modes are done the multiplayer fights/tournaments will be off the hook
all in all, cant wait till its released then after this title we will get our true mortal kombat next-gen experience *rubs hands in anticipation* _________________ True Victory is reserved for those Willing to pay its Price

I don't get why MK vs DC was such a pain for many of you guys. I mean Marvel vs. Capcom was a hit so why not let Midway try it? Bu then all-of-a-sudden, the fans have heart attacks. What's wrong with Dc comics anyway. Superman, the Joker, and Green Lanturn are my favs to use in MK vs DC. I even made a YouTube video asking people why the hate it so much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rskK5Y46Gc4&feature=channel_page
You guys are seriously cry-babies. I meant, at least it has a story to it: MvC didn't. Sure, a different crossover would've been better, but I'm not gonna cry because they chose DC.
My ONLY complant about the game is the fact Kai, Reptile, Sektor, Johnny Cage, and Mileena wern't in it, that's my only one.
At least it was something stupid like the Teletubbies or Street Fighter. _________________ Top 5 fav characters
1. Sub-Zero
2. Kai
3. Reptile
4. Sektor
5. Scorpion
