wow, harsh words over something as simple as a video game. death? really?
sorry to hear that not everyone's opinion coincides with your own, but them's the breaks, kid. not everyone's gonna agree with you... like me. I don't think that MK vs DCU is a great game. not even a good game, really.
as I've said before, the game mechanics are sound, but essentially, this game brings nothing new to the table.
if anything, I actually kind of agree that Ed Boon could take a lesson from the folks over at Namco. Total-MK may not like Tekken, but I would be willing to bet that even he would agree that Tekken has followed a winning formula for just about every release they've punched out. they seem to go by the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." and they've made millions because of it.
I don't think that MK is doomed and should be taken over by some other people because of this spin-off. I couldn't picture anyone other than the current team working on this series. I think MK vs. DCU was just an experiment to test the waters of a cross-over and this fighting system. it wasn't received well by most fans, so hopefully Boon & Co. will learn from it and take their customers' suggestions to heart.
*ahem moregameslikeDeception ahem* hm, sorry. had a frog in my throat.
now let's all chill out and just enjoy the forums, shall we? =) _________________ Nikki: your friendly neighborhood moderator. ^_^

Thats what Iam saying no insulting ....just writing opinions without insulting .
I know 2 players who play Tekken 6 on the arcade they say that MK VS DCU is better than T6 .

A fan base can't kill a game, the only thing that kills a game is when it sucks, and MK vs DC, was just a let down on many fronts. If the price tag was $20, $30 tops, it'd be worth it, however very little content and straight forward arcade fighting, a $60 title does not make.
I highly disagree Chibi concerning Namco. They do nothing but nickle and dime their players with 'new dlc' that's over priced and content that's already on the disk to begin with anyways.
If anything, the MK should look back to their roots: the arcades. They should study the arcades that are still going strong in Japan, study how they are still amazingly great, and what allows each one to truly reach the fans. Arcana Heart for example. _________________

I actually had to look up this game to see what it was. what a disappointment. my inner feminist screamed, "gross!" in my brain over and over again. =/ measurements on 10 year old girls? really?
I won't be here for much longer, but living in Japan, I can tell you honestly that I've never EVER seen an arcade version of this game. it is, however, a little funny that you should mention this game after talking about Namco "nickle and diming" people, considering that apparently Arcana Heart charged close to $800 for single patch chip (this is, however, according to Wikipedia. so hey, I could be wrong).
that sounds like the ultimate nickle and dime, if you ask me. I'll take purchasing Tekken 5's Dark Resurrection port over playing 2D moe anime games.
besides, honestly, what gaming franchise hasn't dazzled us with just a bit of new content that made us want to buy a slightly altered game? let's think back. even as far back as MK4 ( MK Gold anyone?), or even the different versions of MK Trilogy, there have been little lacy frills added to some of our favorite MK games that made us go, "ooh DO WANT!" Deception for GameCube offered two new kombatants, and Unchained for PSP gave us some of our favorite fighters from Deadly Alliance, but I betcha that character information was already in the original Deception disc. but ya know what? most people don't care that much. we just want new content, so we're happy to shell out a few extra bucks for it.
and don't even get me started with Capcom. those people are shameless.
but I digress. I'm rambling. the point is that entertainment companies are just that. companies. they may be out to entertain, but at the end of the day, they're gonna find out how they can do that while simultaneously squeezing as much cash out of us as possible through special editions, limited releases, and expandable content. it's not just Namco. it's everyone.
but I'm off-topic. my apologies.
now. a question for ErmaSco. not that I'm not happy that you decided to join us here at TMK, but what exactly was insulting about these people at MKO? feel free to give your experience as well, Loaded-95.
and by the way, if you guys have any questions or anything, shoot me a message, alright? I'll help ya out. =) _________________ Nikki: your friendly neighborhood moderator. ^_^
