maybe your right fuzz..but my side of the story is kinda diffrent. I think it was Shao Kahn who was attempting to take over all realms and when doing so he found a secret island in one of the realms containing dinosaur looking creatures and when he meet these creatures they decided to send they're strongest and smartest to aid Kahn to learn more about the human race and this is where Reptile comes in...Kahn had offered Reptile a human form and thus accepting it took away his fighting capabilities..Reptile was pissed but didnt say anything and when told to kill Kitana Kahn promised him that he would give back his reptilian form for his strength would be greatly increased....Kahn may have slowly given him his origanal form back. from MK4 he was half human half reptile and know he is completely reptilian
