So, I have played this game for a short time at my friend's house the other day... I don't like it at all! The whole concept is awful to me!
Sure, the game is very nicely done, very cool, but it shouldn't have been a MK game...
The idea of Heroic Brutality in a Mortal Kombat game is wrong. Sure, it does represent a good thing : Good guys don't kill people. Okay, but not-killing people is exactly what MK is NOT about! 
Even the MK characters' fatalities are not deadly or vicious as they used to be...( Actually, in my opinion, MK4 was the last MK that got the Fatalities right.)
I could say more, but I'm lazy enough not to do so. 
My conclusion is that this game has the soul, but not the heart.
What do you think?

I sort of agree with you...
It's not that I don't like the game, it just doesn't have that MK feel to it.
It seems more like a fighting game with MK characters, instead of an actual MK game. I like this game, but not as a fighting game, not As an MK game. You follow?

My general thoughts exactly.
Although I like games that look good, like this one, it wouldn't really feel like a Mortal Kombat game...
And the thing you said, A Game With MK Characters In It, Instead Of An Actual MK Game... I wouldn't say it better myself!
But, what made me write this more than the game itself are the FATALities which aren't FATAL! 
And those that are are silly...Example, Jax's Machine Gun fatality, he does an uppercut first. You would think people would scream their guts out when they get launched 15 feet in the air!
As I said, all of this has the soul of a good game, but does not have a MK heart...

I know what you mean,but i enjoyed the game for what it is and it was a good dash of something different to keep it going stale,sure i play the mk side pretty much 100% of the time,but hey i liked the story mode it was cool.

Although I think the game is fun at times and the story mode was at least watchable im not really a fan.
I could go on but I don't really wana delve into something I don't really like.
I look at the game as something to pass the time for the next MK.
(MK vs Street Fighter= YES DEATH TO THE STREET FIGHTERS! Except Akuma hes cool.....but not Kool lol)
