I personally hope to see the Shao Kahn/Onaga back story to be told. Also a return (and first appearance) from the Great Kung Lao would be awesome. Scare the fuck out of Goro and Shang Tsung. Lets face it Tsung is always gonna be around!!!!!

Whats up board.
I'd personaly like to see MK9 be a 2d prequel to MK1
Hi-Res, live actors, double the sprites that were used for past 2d games.
It would look insane
Better than 3d imo

agreed , imo if mk9 is 2d then i think it will revive midway .. because the majority of fans think that 2d is better than 3d .... therefore i hope that mk9 turns out to be 2d .

Nah man I hope MK8 is 3D and that they make another 2D game aswell.
A mythologies game would be excellent or a prequel to MK.
Fuck it as long as we get back to the traditional "Official" Tournament ill be happy.

Well, if that's the case, Boon might as well just go for the Adults Only rating.
Hell, he was the one who said he didn't want minors playing his games, or did he finally realize it was the kids who got him his paychecks?
I'm legal, anyway, so I couldn't really give damn either way.

Me either the more violent MK is the better.....but it must still be MK.
It has to feel like MK nad have re-play value like the Klassics.
I don't really mind youngsters playing MK because they will eventually see the ways of the world. Plus I only do bablities on my wee bro when we begs me to play lol Oh and he has to kover his eyes with the fatalities hes still too young for that lol

Well, I've been playing MK since I was a wee lad, and I still play it now, so I'd be a hypocrite to not let my brother play it.
Besides, I don't have a problem with kids playing bloody games, as long as their parents teach them the difference between fantasy and reality, and not to emulate what they see.

When life is viewed this way, it's easier to put up with.
I can't think of any character in MK that would entice a kid into playing with razors.

Well, I'd love to see another 2D MK, but I highly doubt it'll happen, but as long as MK9 maintains some of the elements of the 2D MK games, MK9 will be a HUGE success. MK4 was 3D, but it maintained 2D elements, and that's why I found MK4 to be very enjoyable. MK9 can be similar to MK4, but much much better.

its not a surprise to find someone who loves Mk4 ... alot of people love the game .. just as much as they love deception and the other new Mk games ... its just that Mk4 was the first Mk to be 3d .. and old Mk fans just dont want change .. they weren't used to new game engines , despite it being the closest to the old mk games .

I myself am an old MK fan.
I don't think it's the change that bothered them, but the comparison of MK4 to other 3D fighting games at the time.
I never bothered to compare. I've always viewed the game as a revolutionary part of the MK franchise. There are features in MK4 that still don't exist in other MK games, such as:
- Quick-step pivots
- Character-screen interaction (i.e. blood on the screen, them on the screen)
- Video endings
- Running (MKDA and up)
- Team Mode
- Tournament Mode
- In-game cheats
- Quan Chi (except for MKDA, of course)
- Endurance Mode (I ain't counting that Unchained bullshit)
- Classic screaming, oh that beautiful, beautiful screaming.
MK4 is, and will always be, my favorite video game.
