Post subject: My personal review of MK Trilogy for the PS1 (3/5) |

The storyline just explains pretty much the events of the three MKs. Trilogy explains Shao Kahn's "final attempt" at conquering Earth Realm.
The music was, some of it had pitch alterations, but the rest was okay. That means the music and sounds were playing at their arcade released format. Only the MK3/UMK3 were affected.
The characters were a great selection, we can no doubt agree, but the Uber characters, like Shao Kahn should not have been playable. Noob and Rain should have been removed as playables as well because Noob has this "smoke orb" that prevents the opponent from inflicting damage or blocking and Rain, because he can launch a blast of water that allows you to control your opponent's movements. Also, Noob and Rain were Ubers for juggle combos.
Another thing about the characters is there could have been the new generations of characters, like Sareena, Quan Chi, Shinnok, et cetera. I didn't enjoy the Classic Kung Lao or Classic Jax or Classic Rayden or Classic Kano. It may have been good for Trilogy, but nobody needed that. Seriously.
Overall, good wrk, Midway.

Nice review man not too nice not too harsh.
I grew up with MKT so yeah I no what your talking about.
I think you should've had codes to let you play as the ubers and they should've had fatalities. And yeah "every" character wasn't in it.
However I liked the inclusion of the MK2 characters......but if they were gonna do that they shouldve did it with everybody.
One thing you didn't include was the loading times........AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
