Scorpion's real name is Hanzo Hasashi.
Takeda is a former member of the Lin Kuei. He left China, perfected the way of the Chinese assassin and formed ninjitsu, forming the Shirai Ryu. Hanzo wanted to join the clan to provide a comfortable life for his wife and son, but was forbidden by his father (a clansmen of the Shirai Ryu) Hanzo joins anyway, and recieves the codeman Scorpion, which marks him a high ranked ninja in the clan. Hanzo was a simple fisherman before joining the clan. Which is why I put fisherman in the screenshot. I only put Scorpion's face and character there to show off what the sprites I got.

Where did you here that??
Everywhere I look for info it always says Takeda was Scorpion's alias while a part of the Lin Kuei - yes his real name is Hanzo Hasashi, and his alias with the Shirai Ryu is Scorpion.
As for everything else you mentioned, I have never heard or read in my life - and I'm a huge MK/Scorpion fan. I have played all the games except Special Forces, and seen both movies (even thought they were crap). I have not watched either the cartoon or the TV series as what little I have read about the story it's completely fucked up and bullshit. From memory one of them says that Scorpion was killed by scorpion vemon or something, and then mutated.
Oh, and not to mention the games also seem to indicate that Scorpion is the grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu and that the Lin Kuei have a personal vendetta against him more than the rest of his clan - which would further point to Scorpion being Takeda.

Scorpion's name isn't Takeda like Conquest says.
His name was Hanzo Hasashi. He did not form the Shirai-Ryu.
But later became the leader. It was said that the Shirai-Ryu founder, Takeda, was poisened by the Lin-Kuei and his bones stolen.
The majority of what DanMacabre says is true.
Scorpion isn't Takeda.
Even ask Luke the webmaster here. He'll back it up. ^-^

Absolutely none of that is in Scorpion's official story line (from the games).
I know Scorpion is Hanzo - I never said he wasn't. I just read in quite a few places that Scorpion was "known" as Takeda when he was a part of the Lin Kuei. Obviously those sources were unreliable, but Scorpion being a part of the Lin Kuei, leaving, and forming the Shirai Ryu, makes at least some sense - in regard to the official story line.
I did a bit of digging around after my last post and found that there is no mention of Scorpion being a fisherman or anything about his father. Although, saying that I couldn't manage to find any detailed information about "MK: The Journey Begins". So I'm going to assume that the fisherman/father thing is from that movie.
.... and if it is then it's not canon. Mostly because it was written by the same guy who wrote the MK movies - and we all know how screwed up they are.
Regardless, I don't really like the idea of him being a fisherman, or having an overprotective father, mostly because it makes Scorpion seem weak, childish, and kinda pathetic. Not to mention it causes a few plot holes and inconsistencies.

Fair enough. I still say Scorpion didn't form Shirai-Ryu or was part of Lin Kuei. He is Japanese. Link Kuei didn't teach outsiders.
I know were you are koming from with the facts as I don't really remember exactly were I obtained this info as its been a brave while since I kame across it.
I will check my MK: The Journey Begins and official Midway komics and see if any of this komes up. But that will have to wait until the weekend as I won't be home until then.
