|
| |
Hey everyone…
Any martial arts movie fans here?
If so, what are your ten best titles of all time?
This is about the closest I can do to narrow it down
1. Fist of legend (Jet Li)
2. Drunken Master (Jackie Chan)
3. Enter the dragon (Bruce Lee)
4. Once upon a time in China (Jet Li)
5. Meals on wheels (Jackie Chan)
6. Tai Chi (AKA-Twin warriors)(Jet Li)
7. Police Story (Jackie Chan)
8. The legend of Fong Sai-Yuk (AKA Fong Sai-Yuk or The legend)(Jet Li)
9. Best of the best (Phillip Rhee, James Earl Jones, Eric Roberts)
10. Only the strong (Mark Dacascos)
(some of these movies have alternative names…if you know them please put them down, as others might want to go in search of them) _________________

Quality selection there my, friend, *tips hat* I can see you have a refined taste in Asian cinema.
Very hard to narrow things down... so I didn't bother with top 10. I say my favs are:
Master of the Flying Guillotine (I'm sure most MK fans will totally appreciate this movie... a lot of games were inspired by this)
Young Master
Drunken Master II (I have a rare 100% uncut version which rocks)
Shaolin Challenges Ninja
Fist of Legend
Once upon a time in China
Project A
Iron Monkey
Snake in the Eagle's Shadow
The 36th Chamber of Shaolin
Blade (starring Tsui Hark, not the ghey hollywood versions)
Zatochi (original 26 movies)
Lone Wolf and Cub (6 movies)
Lady Snowblood
Ong Bak
Seven Samurai
Shintaro (NINJA FUCK FEST 100% NINJITSU SATISFACTION GUARANTEED)
Irezumi (1966, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200740/) _________________ I am disrespectful to dirt!

Well, I tip my hat to you too Sir…truly a great selection of movies here. There are a few like Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and Seven Samurai that I am searching for as this is being written but Young master, Ong Bak and project A are also some of my favorites in your list. _________________

I don’t know if you’re saying you have or haven’t seen some of these when you ask the question, “do I know 10 great martial arts movies?”…It could be that you have seen a few and didn’t like them or that you just don’t know them, if the later is the case then you really should try to see some of them…try fist of legend first (if you haven’t seen it), that should put you in the spirit of things _________________

I haven't gone out of my way to watch a lot of martial arts movies, but I have to mention my love for Ong Bak, and Tony Jaa.
