Yeah....I haven't played much MK so I can't really remember stuff. Oh well, maybe ermac got an error macro in his code and that messed up his skin colour.

I kouldn't kome up with a better explanation than DeathRider.
Face it man his explanation is "thee" explanation lmao 
Or it could be because he is made of kountless souls his skin can change. Hes bound to have multi-racial souls in there somewhere.

Good call, man. I think that is actually a really fitting explanation. If Ed Boon reads this he'll probably say "I'm using that shit!" Lol
If that was the case though, would that give Ermac the ability to morph from one shape and persona to another? Or would that just be opening a can of worms?

I think the personality change would be kinda kool in a way.
But not too sure on the shape shifting thing. We already have too many of that shit lol
So the skin change and slight personality disorder would be an excellent improvement on Ermac's Kharacter. It would make him one of thee most original Kharacters in the franchise! And we need that.

This thread has just given me an idea for a special move for Ermac.
How about he dispels one of the souls which takes on a physical form (like what happened in the movie where Noob Saibot came out of Ermac's chest). The new form does an attack on the opponent before being re-absorbed by Ermac.
I know it share some resemblance to Noob Saibot's clone move in Trilogy, but I always liked that move and wanted to see it return.
They could even make a fatality out of it.

Noob Saibot coming out of Ermac was the dumbest thing I've seen happen to any Mortal Kombat character, ever... except for Motaro losing his manhood.
To answer the question, Ermac had dark skin to create the token black ninja.

That actually sounds like a great move, man. And the Fatality capabilities from something like that could be savage.
I don't, however, remember ever seeing Noob coming out of Ermacs chest. When, where, and what the fuck was this?
