*Facepalm*
Sigh...
Can't we all just agree to disagree?
Or better yet, settle this through Mortal Kombat?

Couldn't agree with you more.
To deathrider, I hear you, man. Kitana was always the reason I watched the movie, despite her not even being in the first game.
It would be nice, however, to see a movie that fully caters to the atmosphere of the franchise. |
I totally agree. I'd love to see a MK movie which feels dark, moody and violent while sticking to the games story lines and appeals to the true fans of the game as opposed to just the people who remember that there were ninja in MK and the phrase Finish Him was used a lot. That's the movie I want to see!
But, having said that, I still enjoyed the original as a fun action romp.
Phyrior, your probably right though. Nostalgia is more than likely one of the main reasons that the MK movie has a place in my hearth. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

I suppose nostalgia goes a long way, huh?
How long, exactly?
Maybe the amount of time it takes for this guy to actually break the wall.
<---- That's me btw, expressing my anger for Threshold.
I'll always watch the movies, but they'll never be as good as when I was little, and didn't know a thing about video games, or movies, for that matter. _________________ I'm gonna marry Quan Chi some day...

Mortal Kombat II was the first video game I ever played.
I was, I think, four years old, and SNES was the hot shit at the time.
I'll never forget the first time I saw Baraka. I fell in love. Then I saw Quan Chi, and I got married. But anyway, yeah, I've been a huge MK fan for, hell, pretty much my whole life. _________________ I'm gonna marry Quan Chi some day...

Ah, yes! I too remember my first time playing MKII. It was on the SNES, and I was blown away by the amount of gore. Although I'd played the first MK in the arcades prior to this, my mind was blown by the fact the the blood had came home. The original MK had no gore on the SNES version (which I played the shit out of), which is why I was so damn impressed. MKII is still my all time favorite game. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

Haha, you all had MKs on SNES... I had a SNES, but the games were SMW, DKC and SM All Stars....
Aaaallll of the other stuff was on the Genesis.
And I personally like the Genesis MKs much better.
The graphics are not that bad, but the music and the sounds are just... NOSTALGICALLY good... (I was 2-5 when playing it, I don't know what nostalgia I could have, but hey...) _________________

I've always preferred the SNES editions of MK. The 6 button joypad was one of the main reasons. I found the 3 button (or 4 button if you include the Start button) Genisis/ Megadrive joypads a real pain to play fighting games with. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

Yes, I left that point out just to show how awesome the Genesis version was.
Of course, it was really a pain in the ass, but you had L and R buttons (which were both Block )
...Oh well, I don't really care, the music was most of the first three MKs for me. _________________

I must agree with you, man.
SNES was much better than Genesis. The controls were better, the graphics looked better. Hell, it smelled better.
SNES will always have a place in my heart, and Genesis will always have a place in my backyard. _________________ I'm gonna marry Quan Chi some day...
