Here's my dream cast:
Ali Larter as Lt. Sonya Blade
Christy Carlson Romano as Princess Kitana
Billy Drago as Lord Raiden
Erica Durance as Queen Sindel
Zachary Quinto as Jarak
Ray Park as Reiko
Janet Jackson as Tonya
Tia Mowry as Jade
Possible choice:
Jerry O'Connell as Johnny Cage
Jason Statham as Kano
Jet Li as Kung Lao
before some of you or most of you hate on my choice (infact we all have different choices)
I think it's great for Janet, Jerry, Erica and Christy to star in this type of film from a unique game. This movie is Adult Orientated (ie: game).
And the Atmosphere of the plot line, game and movie is plain different.
See I don't mind a well known, known, less known or unknown cast. As long as they act the part right. When you think about it. Janet is well known in Music. She's not too known in movies. I know she'll blend in. Christy is a former disney actress. She's just to kitana like to me. She acts great, she has the looks. Jerry, in my opinion is well known. I think he'll blend in as well. Billy seems like a raiden to me and i seen his movies, i like them. He's les sknown to the media i bet. He's a Sci Fi Actor like in Sci Fi//Scy Fy channel.
Ray Parks did play a few in MK:A movie. One of the Raptors, Baraka and I think that's it. Zachary looks like a Jarak to me, and he's a great actor. He's a great villain as Sylar (Gabriel Gray) in Heroes. Ali Larter has the Sonya look. She's a great actress. She's known but she's not a Blockbuster known Actress. She played Claire R. In Resident Evil: 3. Plus Tracy//Jessica//Gina in Heroes. Jet Li in my opinion is Kung Lao material. I feel Jerry should be in it, but I'm debating his role as Johnny in my fanatasy Mortal Kombat universe. At first i thought of him as Reiko non the less. I thought of Zachary as Scorpion, but i feel he's best for Jarak.
Erica to me is Sindel Material. She's from Smallville as Lois Lane.  She's a great actress, but I think she's needs the boost up as Sindel. She has the looks. Even Musetta Vander (sindel from MK:A) had the looks. She did great as Sindel. Now Don't hate me for saying this, I have picture Hilary Duff as Sindel and even photoshopped Hilary as Sindel. She looks fantastic. Looks like a real sindel in my eyes.
Remember I think, the actor/tress needs to act the part right. Not only act it right, but enough to blend in to the scene, plot and character. Talisa blended in very well to Kitana in Both Movies. That one woman in MK:C did blend in with Kitana as well. Musetta did blend in with Sindel in my opinion. Robin as Liu did blend. Linday and that other guy from MK:A did blend int. Both JAx Blended in. Both Sonya's blended in. ALthough i like the first sonya better. Chris blended in more to raiden then that other guy in MK:A....That guy from MK;A (i can't remember his name for some reason) did blend in more later on in the movie. Jeffery as raiden in MK:C was great. He blended in. Brian Tompson did blend in as Shao in MK:A.
Jade (although black in the game) in movie played by Asian Woman did infact blend in aside from her Ethnicity. Nightwoolf guy blended in. I think his name is Little Foot in real life.

Good choice appearances-wise, but I don't think she knows martial arts does she?

Hot, but I don't know if she can act or fight, and she looks really young. I always thought the chick who played Kitana in both previous movie fit the part perfectly, she just need to learn to fight a little better - or at least learn how to fake it better.
"Billy Drago as Lord Raiden"
Never been a fan of this guy, plus he's ridiculously butt ugly. Although neither of the guys playing Raiden in the previous movies could act or fight very well, but if I had to choose one I would definately go with Christopher Lambert.
"Zachary Quinto as Jarak"
I really hate this guy, sick of seeing him everywhere and he's not even that good of an actor, and I highly doubt he can fight. Actually, I would only let him be in if he died in the first scene, squealed like a little girl-piggy, cried and begged for his life - then his head gets torn off and used as a sock puppet by some lame character like Shujinko or Mocap.
"Ray Park as Reiko"
Don't know this guy, but a VERY quick google search reveals he would be a nice addition to the cast, but maybe not as Reiko. In fact I'm not all that keen on any of the new MK4 characters. They all suck and are all very poorly designed. I'd prbably have this guy as one of the ninja - maybe Reptile, Ermac, or Noob Saibot, Heck maybe even Sub-Zero.
"Janet Jackson as Tonya"
Again, only so I can see her die in a embarrassing way, but even then her and Quinto would probably kill the movie for me.
"Tia Mowry as Jade"
I highly doubt she can fight, and I'm sure there are better choices out there.
"Jerry O'Connell as Johnny Cage"
He would suit the character as he looks like a self-loving pretty-boy.
"Jason Statham as Kano"
I'll agree with this.

Also agree with this as Jet Li is awesome.

EDIT:
Also I would suggest Summer Glau (Serenity), she is a great actress and is a great dancer (and film fight scenes are just rehearsed dances). She proved she can do it in Serenity - I'm just not sure what rold she would be best suited for in MK.

I love Jason Statham so Id like to see him play kano.
Of kourse Jet Li would be an excellent Kung Lao, both are badass.
Nice choices man some of these I don't know so I kan't really say if I like em or not.
