Okay, we all know that sometime this year, another Mortal Kombat movie is coming out.
The purpose of this thread is to talk about what we hope will happen, what we have been told will happen, possible characters, possible actors, etc. basically anything related to it.
So everyone, feel free to join in and talk up!

From what Iv heard, it is to be a dark and more grizzly version of the first one. Christopher Lambert has agreed to play Raiden again, although apparently he might retract it. It is also rumored (nothng more) that James Marsters (Spike form the Buffy and Angel series) will be staring in it. If he is, I rekon he'll be playing Jonny Cage...

The only thing I've heard so far is, as you've mentioned, that Lambert is to return as Raiden I hadn't heard about Marsters playing a part in it, but I'd be quite happy if he did, as I'm a huge Buffy fan. He's certainly got enough martial arts skills for the job.
Last rumor I heard (and this was quite a while ago) was that MK was going down the same road as X-Men by doing an origins movie, based around Sub-Zero.

The Marsters thing is naught but a rumor. Anything could happen in regards with that.
And Im not so sure about the sub-zero thing. That would just be a remake of MK: Mythologies...
And yes, Buffy is awesome.

Iv heard its a reboot of the frist 2 movies. Lambert might return as Raiden (heres hoping, hes awesome) and Chris Cassamassa is returning as Scorpion. (Cassamassa played Scorpion in the frist MK Movie and MK Conquest. He didn't play him in MK Annihilation).
You never know Sonya kould be the lead with this Warner Bros copyright issue.

Well it's been a very very long time since I posted here but I thought I would for old time's sake. I found some news about the third Mortal Kombat film (known as "Mortal Kombat Devastation" for some time now).
Apparently Warner Bros. was planning to relaunch the franchise but had some legal trouble with Threshold Inc. Then Threshold when bankrupt and its holdings bought out by Warner Bros. though apparently there is still some legal issues going on.

It would be nice if someone just confirmed one way or the other if a third Mortal Kombat movie is coming out or if we might as well forget it. The thid MK movie has been in production hell for 13 years, it would be nice to know one way or the other by now. It's also a shame because by now probably most of the actors from the first movie wouldn't be able or willing to reprise their roles.
