Been playing through Darksiders on hard mode today, and listening to the stereo. The Cd I was spinning stopped, but I was knee deep in battle, so I didn't get around to putting on any more tunes. And that's when I heard it. One of the opponents said "Your soul is mine!". It even came up in the subtitles.
I was kinda stunned because, as I'm sure everybody here knows, that is Shang Tsungs catchphrase. I was wondering if it was copywritten to MK, and maybe they snuck it in there because Midway are bankrupt, and the ain't really much they can do to retort. If it's not copywritten, then it's still a bold move. It would be like playing through a non- Street Fighter game, and hearing enimies yelling "Hadoken".

Well, Astaroth from the Soul Calibur series says that line too. At least in Soul Calibur II. Haven't really heard him say stuff in the others.

Cervantes is pretty similar to Shang Tsung but he doesn't actually say Tsungs line. His quotes are like "Now you're a part of me" etc. I think I recall what Seth mentioned about Astaroth. But yeah I don't think its breaching copyright but it would still piss me off.

I don't really remember hearing it in the games, unless I haven't payed them enough to see/hear it. The only instance where I remember he says it is in the first movie.

I think he says it in Conquest or maybe its the animated prequel or Defenders of the Realm. Im not sure atm.
Regardless if you hear that line you think of Shang Tsung.

Don't know how they would make it a pivotal thing for him to say. I think the only way for it to work well would be in a fatality where he steals their soul.
