Greetings all, signed on to the site after having watched 1 too many mk sprite animations and would like to learn how to make my own.
I already got a few sprites and have been messing around, havent really found a good faq or tutorial so its been mostly experimentation so far.
Is there any noobie friendly guide somewhere on this site perhaps?
Another question I have is regarding sounds, most notably sound effects and screams. i have no trouble finding normal game speech (finish him!, etc), but can't find characters grunts and screams on this site, assuming I havent missed them, could someone point me towards where I can find them?

Edit: Found sounds on sig of a poster ere  Awesomeness, saved it for later, need to learn how to actually do a competent sprite movie now.

Yeah, if you really want to get a good hold on making some cool vids, it would be good to get in contact with the user waldodragovic. I'm pretty sure he's the one you found the sounds from. Good luck, and welcome to TMK.com!!

Have made some decentish fatality pics so far, next goal is to have a "soundless" animation with no background, but do have a few questions to ask someone who has done this before.

Heheh, you could've just PM-d me, but you're in luck I just happened to see this thread.
Firstly, I'm not THAT good with sprites and animation, all I do is try to make things look as more like MK as possible.
But I'm sure I'll be of some assistance.
You can see a few links in my signature, one is for a sprite thing I made (UMK3 New Fatalities), and a few of the other links are for Sound Packs that are really hard to find, so just help yourself.
I get all of the sprites from this great site, MKWarehouse.
And, if you didn't know, the program you'll need is Macromedia (or Adobe) Flash.
I believe you'll have some more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

And its from your sig I got my sounds, awesomeness of you to put it up there. Your animation is more or less the standard I hope to achieve with my own stuff.
Lurking around on this forum has been helpful, aquired ressources and even learnt some tricks!
I graduated from making single scene paint scenes to amateurish windows movie maker animations (with sounds! :O ), its actually been pretty fun so far and even started messing about with sprite editing (by which I mean id copy paste a head from 1 sprite onto another, making a 3rd with the stance of the 2nd and expression of the 1st).
Anyways im still messing around making basic movies and for now, will save my questions for a new topic as suggested, the only one I will ask for now is regarding Adobe Flash. I googled it and downloaded it but doesn't seem to be a program to make sprite films, so must have misunderstood something.
I thought it was a software like windows movie maker no? (soz im a bit of a comp noob xP )Well feel free to reccomend any software you feel might be helpful for this type of animation

Well, I must say, Flash is pretty much the easiest to use cause it is THE multimedia tool. It combines the moving pictures with sound, creating, well, you saw what I made.
I just have to say this early, it's gonna take a lot of effort and patience to get into hang of the whole thing. And then some more to actually make something.
There are maaany tutorials for Flash out there, though.
It is sort of similar to the Movie Maker, cause the timeline is the point of it all.
Just this time instead of videos, you have layers of pictures.
And don't worry if you're new to the stuff, while you still have will to do it and you see it as fun, keep it up!
