Ok this topic may have been brought up before (or not I can't tell with all the topics) but where does everyone see the storyline going in the next Mk game?
Assuming that it follows on from Armageddon and Taven's ending is canon who's ending do you think happened?
Also do you see where MK vs DC could fit into the story and what storyline elements from that game would you like to see picked up in the next?
Personally I think Sub-Zero's ending is most likely it doesn't contradict any other character's ending. I personally like the idea of Quan Chi being the medallion similar to the Legacy of Kain character Raziel (if anyone here remembers that game) and does throw in a chaotic element to the story.
From MK vs DC anyone else think Raiden's ending provides an interesting possibility? Of all the endings that one intrigued me I would like to see where it could go. _________________ His approach will be as silent as new fallen snow...his attack as fierce as winter's blizzard...his devastation as brutal as winter's relentless chill...he is complete (Lin Kuei Grandmaster)
So fair... yet so cold... like a morning of pale spring still clinging to winter's chill (Grima Wormtongue)
In the depths of Winter I finally learned that within me there lay an invinsible summer (Albert Camus)

Well I'm pretty sure what transpired in the Konquest Mode of MK: Armageddon is canon and assume Taven defeated Blaze, with the third, unexpected event happening. Then again, if the MK crew intended to kill off most of the cast then perhaps one of the other endings happened, hard to say, it all depends if they MK team decides they want to stick with the "fresh start" approach they talked about when Armageddon was out.
As for MK vs DCU, never bought it, never rented it, never even played it or watched someone play it. I don't consider it canon and I don't think the MK team will either with MK9, at least I really, really hope they don't. Given the tidbits of the plot I've heard I don't think it's even worth trying to force into the main continuity.
I wonder why we haven't heard much news about MK9 recently. I'm sure the whole Midway-Warner Bros. thing caused a delay, but surely we should've heard a bit more about it by now, amirite? _________________

Never owned MK vs DC myself or played it however I did look up the storymode cutscenes and endings to get a feel for the story and see where the team could go with it. While I dislike most of the Mk vs DC story certain features interested me like Raiden being unfamilar with the Greek Gods, Sub Zero's use of magick outside of his Kori ice powers to track Scorpion, The Special Forces base ideas I think can be used. As long as they spend little time on the DC universe itself. I like the cutscene idea and want to see more of that in future games as story is still more important to me than gore, fighting and fatalities I wouldn't have stuck so long otherwise.
I'm wondering about that as well a teaser pic like the Quan Chi and Shang Tsung one from MK: Deadly Alliance would spark to interest and give me something to think about in my spare time. _________________ His approach will be as silent as new fallen snow...his attack as fierce as winter's blizzard...his devastation as brutal as winter's relentless chill...he is complete (Lin Kuei Grandmaster)

Personally I think it will involve the Elder Gods.
Boon nicknamed MK9 Attack of the dogs, what if that means Attack of the Gods?
It kould really be 2-D too! Boon has mentioned Animalities, Friendships, babalities, This MK is a lot differen't from the last few titles, it ain't like SF4 and keeps mentioning old school stuff like "There is no Run Button."
MK9 should be kalled MK8 as MK vs DC wasn't kanon.
I played MKvsDC, beat the whole game and all trophies but I still dislike it.
All the best,
