I think The next Mortal Kombat should return to its original roots and become a 2d fighter once again.
As with all games making the 3d changeover some should not of been in the first place namley Sonic and Donkey Kong.
Before the flames begin, the best MK in the 16 - 32 bit era or as some would like to argue to date was MK2 and UMK3.
Going back to 2d would have its benefits as well as some downfalls I would assume but:
Going Back to 2d would increase disk space for more stages, characters, moves and the -alities and hara kiri's.
Ability to go back to multi level fighting stages.
Could also include a create a stage mode with abilities to create your own custom stage fatality.
It doesnt completely have to be 2d stages could also have 3d elements or fatalities etc. Something like Street Fighter 4 is 3d plays like its 2d.
These are my opinions you are welcome to your own they were just my ideas. What would be your thoughts on the 3d - 2d issue? _________________ I get owned by everyone

Unfortunately from a fighting game perspective the player would be very restricted with choice of moves and strategy remember how easy it was to beat MK3 using either Sub Zero or Cyrax?
Disk space isn't that much of an issue as you can get Dragon Age on Xbox, PS3 and PC for example, in theory that game would be too big for the consoles. _________________ His approach will be as silent as new fallen snow...his attack as fierce as winter's blizzard...his devastation as brutal as winter's relentless chill...he is complete (Lin Kuei Grandmaster)
