Post subject: NEW MK Trailer FULL ANALYSIS |

UPDATED (Thanks to the-original-razer for the mention of a few characters I didn't notice the first few times.)
If you haven't seen it:

We open with a pari of glowing red eyes with a skull mask being pulled over it.
Cut to a pair of hands surging with electricity.
Cut back to reveal Shao Kahn
Then to a far shot of Raiden walking into frame. We are in Kahn's Arena. The camera goes to a close up on his face, he screams and both him and Kahn rush at each other
As they collide, fists glowing with their expected colors, the screen flashes.
We then see Johnny Cage (Now sporting a sweet "Johnny" tattoo across his chest to compliment his "Cage" belt buckle) and Sub-Zero duking it out in the Deadpool
The game appears to be a full 2-D fighter once again.
We get some glimpses at how kombat will take place with the new 2-D mechanic as Cage does an upward kick followed by a shadowball and then a new quick forward shadowball
Camera changes back to Kahn's Arena where we see Reptile fading in from being invisible (possible intro for each character?)
Cut out to Nightwolf fighting Reptile of what appears the be The Pit (The look is more so The Pit II, but it has spikes on the bottom so I'll say The Pit for now.)
Nightwolf shoots his arrow, Reptile jumps over it and attacks with a three hit combo (Kick, Punch, Punch) and then goes invisible. (We can see Kenshi and Daegon fighting in the background on the second bridge. Much Like Blaze and Hornbuckle from MK2.)
Quick purple flash to Mileena doing a pose (again, possible intro stance?) in what appears to be (The Bridge from MK3?)
We cut to Mileena fighting Sub-Zero in what looks like a new version of Shang Tsung's throne room from MK1.
Mileena attacks with her classic roll followed by a double teleport kick and an air sai blast.
Cut to Kung Lao telelporting in (once again hinting at intros for each character before a fight) in what I can only assume is the rooftop from MK3.
We then see him in action as Kung Lao takes on Reptile in The Living Forest.
Reptile is already airborne when we join them. Kung Lao attack with two quick kicks and a hat throw. He kicks (but misses) as the shot is ending.
Cut back to Shao Kahn in his Arena
Then to Johnny Cage in The Pit (Better shot of his tattoo)
Then to Sektor also in Th Pit doing his Flame Thrower Attack
Then to Nightwolf, glowing a bright yellow being struck by lighting (Another possible intro sequence)
Next, to a quick shot of Sub-Zero looking downward and then back to gameplay.
We return to Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage. Sub-Zero freezes Cage and then does what looks like a throw move in which he upward punches Cages, quickly creates his Kori Blade, impales Cage in the chest and snaps the handle off.
Cut to Mileena and Sekto in the Living Forest where Sektor has launched two missles. He then attacks with his binary uppercut, followed by a jump kick, then another binary uppercut leading into a ground punching air attack.
Cut next to Nightwolf, Sub-Zero, and Johnny Cage on The Pit.
Cage is behind Nightwolf doing a double shadowball (looks like there will be tag team battles and tag team moves.) Sub-Zero ducks to reveal Kung Lao jumping in to do his hat throw hitting Nightwolf. (We can now see that Daegon is fighting Reiko. This suggests, as I though for Kahn's Arena, that the fighting characters will be different each time the stage is selected much like in The Prison from MK Deception.)
We then cut to Sektor and Retile in The Deadpool. Reptile is doing his classic acid spit as Sektor grunts and spazzes.
Cut back to the tag team on The Pit as we see a frozen (possibly ice clone) Sub-Zero next to Kung Lao and Cage about to fight. Cage, steps back as Nightwolf walks into his place and does a lightning bolt strike. Kung Lao is hit by this despite doing his Reflector Spin.
Cut to Johny Cage and Sub-Zero in The Living Forest where Cage grabs and hits Sub-Zero with a strange new feature.
Cage punches Sub-Zero's chest, Knees his face, and then punches his chest from another angle but with each hit, we can see Sub-Zero's skeleton beneath him taking damage (this MAY be the new "Klose Kombat" feature coming into play)
A quick flash shows Reptile uppercutting Johnny Cage into the air in The Pit.
Cut To Kahn's Arena where we see Kung Lao removing his hat as Sub-Zero lies on the ground (Notice Kira chained up in the back wearing her Alternate Costume from MK Deception.) Kung Lao throws the hat to the ground and it starts spinning between Sub-Zero's legs. Sub-Zero does not look pleased. (This is an obvious homage to his Fatality in MK Shaolin Monks) (It should also be noted that right before the hat hits the ground, Li Mei can be seen chained up on the adverse side)
We cut back to The Pit where that uppercut Reptile landed has apparently knocked Cage off of the Pit entirely and he is falling to his death. Right before he is impaled on a spike, the screen flashes and we return to Kung Lao and Sub-Zero.
Kung Lao is pulling Sub-Zero into the spinning blade of the hat. Right before Sub-Zero's crotch hits the blade, a large flash hits revealing the Mortal Kombat logo all in gold (No subtitle at this time.)
Cut back to Kung Lao putting his hat back on. (Here is a better shot of Kira and some strange Princess Leah wannabe next to the throne.)
We then get the official screen with all the info we need to justify our excitement.

I really loved the way Sub-Zero uses his blade in that clip and your Princess Leia look alike seems to be Kitana judging from the platt

I think the princess Leia wannabe is Tanya due to the black and yellow klothing but it kould be Kitana. Heres the kharacters I seen (some fighting in the background) Kahn, Raiden, Cage, Subs, Reptile, Nightwolf, Kenshi, Daegon, Mileena, old man Tsung, Sektor, Reiko, Tanya, Kira and Li Mei.

This - looks - great! From what I've seen, this game is a return to the fast-paced, rapid-combo style of MK3/MK4 but with modern graphics. We've also got some of the classic characters (didn't see Scorpion in the video but I'm sure he'll be in the game) from the MK1-MK3 era, some old school maps as well as some new stuff. Everything about this game looks amazing - I'm especially loving Mileena's costume with the new HD character model. 
I hope human Smoke makes a return but even if he doesn't I'm happy with the cast we've seen thus far. Combined with the Mortal Kombat Revived video recently, this has got my blood running. Can't wait to see what will be revealed at E3.

I can't help to think that this may be a graphical face lift of MK2. I know there are characters in it that were not present until after MK3 but the locale and setting just seems very similar. Still would not complain though if it did turn out to be like that.

This has got me thinking real hard about where this game lies, in regards to the MK storyline. Is it set back in the 90's era, or is Outworld the only realm to survive the Armageddon?
Either way, the actual gameplay looks fantastic. Milleena's combo really caught my attention. But where is the over the top gore that we've been promised? Perhaps they just ain't showing it in the trailer, but the real game will be smothered in blood and guts?

It is possible that Shao Kahn (or someone else) won and captured many of the characters and took them back to Outworld to await execution could explain the number of characters chained in the last clip (though alternatively it could just be an update on a classic level)

That would be a great story twist, and would put Kahn in as the big bad once again. I'm hoping the characters in the background have some substance and reason to be there as opposed toand just being randomers like in the prison level of MK:D.

It would be great if the blood somewhat resembles how it looked in MK2 and UMK3. With the new graphics engine, it shouldn't look like the hilarious blood from DA, D, and A.

Someone even said that the Princes Leah wannabe is Sareena. 
Overall though, the video is AWESOME!!!! I just hope there are nastier fatalities that my favorite characters can perform. I'd want Mileena to knock her opponent off his feet and on his back so she can eat him up from the crotch to the face, ripping all the organs out at the same time. I hope Jade is here too and I'd want her to shove her Bojutsu into the victim's butt through the mouth (the victim should be Johnny Cage).

A few things to consider while thinking about where this may or may not go in the cannon:
1 - Raiden is no longer Dark Raiden. It seems he's back to his good ol' goodsy self.
(THIS IMPLIES A REMAKE)
2 - Sub-Zero's arms are no longer frozen. This implies that he no longer has the Dragon medallion (And before anyone says it, I know he had frozen arms in MK4, but that was a secret costume. Him getting the medallion froze his arms with his increased power and became part of the canon because of it.)
(THIS IMPLIES THAT THIS IS EITHER A REMAKE OR A SEQUEL AS HE MAY HAVE LOST THE MEDALLION SOMEHOW.)
3 - Whether or not it is a random character generator for fun, the fact that Daegon appears in the background implies that he is awake from his slumber. This means that it is AFTER Armageddon.
(THIS IMPLIES THAT IT IS A SEQUEL.)

I haven't spotted the medallion in any scene with Sub-Zero either and I doubt that this is his alternative costume.
