Ok, so I noticed so far the announced characters are from MK2 and MK3 and so does the arenas, except Shang Tsung's throne room, which is clearly MK1. I am glad that Johnny Cage is back.
Ok, so if I could ask a question from Ed Boon, I would ask which characters will be there. Will be there Kabal? That would be awesome. I also loved Quan Chi and Noob Saibot, but I'm interested in Kabal more atm.

well it reads like Kabal may be in it as he's a Klassic from MK3. Noob Saibot was scouting the tournament around MK2 and Quan Chi seems to a master manipulator of the tournament so I would like to see them.
Did anyone else read that the character roster is supposed to be 26? _________________ His approach will be as silent as new fallen snow...his attack as fierce as winter's blizzard...his devastation as brutal as winter's relentless chill...he is complete (Lin Kuei Grandmaster)

Yep. A desired roster of 26 characters. Now, if we actually go back and count all the classics from MK 1 - 3 (Like Boon said, no new character all classics from MK1 -3 ) you'll notice that there are only 28 character. I'm going to make my assumptions now:
Left out - Styker and Motaro.
DLC - Quan Chi.
I'll accept bjs in Spring of new year. _________________

Just out of curiosity, would Shujinko have been doing his rounds around this time. I mean as a younger man, when he was running errands for Onaga without realizing it. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

Yeah wasn't he around when the White Lotus Society was wiped out and fought Kung Lao at its own headquarters _________________ His approach will be as silent as new fallen snow...his attack as fierce as winter's blizzard...his devastation as brutal as winter's relentless chill...he is complete (Lin Kuei Grandmaster)

I really can't remember. It's been a long time since I've played Konquest mode in MK:D, and to be honest, I didn't really enjoy it. But since he spent pretty much his whole life running around doing this and that while being deceived, he should have seen most of MK's history evolve around him. Therefore, he could actually make an appearance in the new game. I know he probably won't because it's all classic characters that are to appear, but he would fit the timeline. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

Ed said events will happen differently from what we know went down so there is a chance that Shujinko won't appear at all.
I think the DLC slot kould have multiple kharacters in iut which you kould scroll through like Shao Kahn and Darkseid in the MK vs DC select screen.
It would save a lot of space.

I don't reckon he will make an appearance. It's highly doubtful, and he ain't a great character anys, so I won't miss him if he ain't there. Just pointing out that he would have been lurking around in the MK shadows around that time. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

If there aren't gonna be any new characters, then why where some previous statements saying that most of the cast would be killed off to make room for new characters? Or something to that extent.

In fairness though, that was a pretty long time ago. They probably didn't know for sure what they were going to do at that stage. Unless, of course, there's something that Bonn and his boys ain't telling us. But they wouldn't keep secrets from us, would they?... _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

This is just a theory (albeit and pretty good one) but I assume they wanted to find a way to make everybody happy. Ed Boon wanted to start witha clean slate, the fans wanted their franchise back, and (MOST IMPORTANTLY) WB owns the rights now. They don't want the rights to a bunch of characters that nobody knows, they want the rights to the franchise THEY BOUGHT. So, asw much as I hate to admit it, MK vs DC may have very well been the best thing that could have eever happend to the franchise. _________________

I'm glad that a clean slate didn't mean getting rid of the entire cast (which is the way it was looking for a while) in favour of a new bunch of eejits that we, the old skool MK fans, would have very little respect for. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

I reckon most of the kast from the first 3 games will appear. Ed said around 26 playable kharacters so if you take all 7 original kharacters: Cage, Kano, Subs, Sonya, Raiden, Kang and Scorpion. Then every new kharacter from MK II: Kung Lao, Reptile, Kitana, Jax, Mileena, Baraka (Dunno if Shang sung will be playable) then the folks from MK3 (with the exception of a certain someone ^-^) Sindel, Cyrax, Sektor, Nightwolf, Sheeva (dunno bout Sheeva) and Kabal. Then later MK kharacters in the background of the teaser trailer: Kira, Li Mei, Reiko, Kenshi, Daegon and Tanya???? Shao Kahn is bound to be a unlockable. That leaves Goro, Kintaro, Motaro and Stryker out. Dunno what will happen. I really hope Noob Saibot, Jade and Smoke are secret bosses too!
Thats my kharacters thoughts for now. What you think?

Those graphics on Sindel? That I's like to see! Milf much?
I know full well that Liu Kang is one of the center pieces in the MK universe, and that you couldn't really retell jack shit without him, but I don't like the idea of seeing him on yet another MK roster. Don't get me wrong, I know the likes of Scorpion and Sub-Zero have been on more rosters than you could count, but at least these characters have depth. Kang, on the other hand, is completely one dimensional. Defend Earth Realm, hate Shang Tsung. Defend Earth Realm again, hate Shang Tsung some more. Seems like the only other thing he ever does is boast about have he's the champion of Mortal Kombat.
Sombody please give this guy some personality. _________________ Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen!

Thats because he's cast as the hero and doesn't seem to have any interesting flaws I use to like Tommy Drake's portrayl in his fan fics from pre MKDA days he was very interesting then. I wish I could find those fics they're gone now _________________ His approach will be as silent as new fallen snow...his attack as fierce as winter's blizzard...his devastation as brutal as winter's relentless chill...he is complete (Lin Kuei Grandmaster)
