Ok, I'm making a roll call here, and we'll see how my logic is correct.
8 character on the selection screen first
1. Johnny Cage
2. Scorpion
3. Sub-Zero
4. Sektor
5. Reptile
6. Kung Lao
7. Nightwolf
8. Mileena
plus Rayden and Shang Tsung was shown in the trailer, but not as playable
9. Rayden
10. Shang Tsung
From an interview, we heard if Liu Kang would be in, he would be in normal form, so let's count him in too, shall we?
11. Liu Kang
Mortal Kombat wikia wrote news about some characters, and I can imagine them to come.
12. Kitana

And if Sonya is here, that means...

You know, if there would be a choice, I would say 1 Sub-Zero is enough in the game, and I would love to see Noob here. Trust me, if they find a way to bring old Liu Kang back, they find a way to bring Noob back.

Take out Noob and replace him with young Sub-Zero as mentioned earlier in this discussion. Motaro might not be playable either but only a boss. Replace Kintaro with Ermac instead. Kintaro can be DLC and maybe even Motaro (if they can make him playable with 4 legs).

Ed said events will happen differently from what we know went down so there is a chance that Shujinko won't appear at all.
I think the DLC slot kould have multiple kharacters in iut which you kould scroll through like Shao Kahn and Darkseid in the MK vs DC select screen.
It would save a lot of space.

All i want is it to be like MK1,2 and 3 all in one with all the old fighters,stages but crazy 2d/3d gfx,sound,new fatality and combo's ect ect. Sorta like a insane MKT with Kreat a fighter option too .Thats when the fighters were cool and i like most of them and loved to hate the others. MK after that started making shocking fighters with no real Mortal Kombat style. The new ones made it look more like teken and most important no background. The story line fell apart when MK4 came out in my eyes ,it just started going all over the place and lost that whole dark outworld theam. Also i must say that MK1,2 and 3 also had all unique fighters even tho some just had palet change(Sub/Scorpion)(Cyrax/Sector/Smoke)(Kitana/Jade/Mileena)ect ect. Thing is they all had good background but were very unique and the story made sense. I just hope it goes back to that but revamped

They should make it with the fighters like Sub Zero that you can just push select or something to change the skins so you can have both. Something like MKT how you can do that to change to the clasics

Guys, The Sub-Zero in this game is the original one O.o (aka the one Scorp killed) so they might have Noob as DLC, and Ed boon said they might make new charecters also as DLC, but Aslong as Scorpion is in I'm happy.

If we are thinking about the likes of Ermac (who I hated back in MKT, but really grew to love in MK:D. Fantastic idea for a character), then will we see Rain? Rain, like Sektor, never really got a chance to shine in the MK universe because he only appeared in over crowded games, and couldn't stand out to be noticed. I'd like to know more about him, and to be honest, I'd rather see him show up than a few of MK3's characters.

Well, Ermac was in MK3, so either he will make a apperance as a charecter in the disk, or a DLC. And rainw as also in MK3, so he might bein the disk or as DLC. but I liked Sektor's and Scorpion's Design in MK9

if that is the orginal sub-zero it is noob so ... probaly will his alternate be noob saibot
